I will quote the part I had a problem with verbatim, and say what I took from it. If I misunderstood, I'll take my comment down and apologize.

...Generally on the topic of storylines, like why do we have to have a storyline, why can't we just have miscellaneous updates, like we used to? It's quite a complex topic, it's probably a large topic in its own right, I think the short version of that would be that you can't get people on board and caring about a storyline that you only check in on once every year. You just can't. Like, people will have forgotten. You can't engage them with characters.

.

Some of you will have been waiting to find out the ultimate conclusion to the deser...

Yeah as you say it's tricky because it's a huge topic.

The section you quoted wasn't about not doing finales, it was about how we need to finish storylines when they still matter, not just leave two years between quests. Basically the situation where some questline is still not finished is bad, and my priority is making sure we don't keep doing that, hence the "we should push ahead with a specific storyline to finish it" attitude.

All that said, I'm not against doing old finales - I would go so far as to say we should do that, but there are just a bunch of factors. We can't just "ship Arposandra" - the anticipated scope is huge, it's not a monthly update, it's the environmental focus of the year. I actually pitched "Desert Finale" for the period that became LOZ, and in retrospect if I could go back I would push it harder. (Part of the consideration is that at the time Rowley was busy with Necromancy, and I think we'd all prefer that he was involved...

Never gonna happen until we get a new lead designer. Mod jack doesn't want to finish old stories because "everyone that was invested in them has left or forgotten it now so it isn't worth doing". I'm paraphrasing but that's basically what he said.

That's nothing like what I said.

We have had discussions about this feature and the impact of the API changes over the past few months.

Given it's an intensely busy time at the studio, it's not something we've had a chance to discuss for a month or so to be completely honest - but we will chat about this further when we next have time.

At the very least we'd like to make sure we get some some sort of information out there on what we're going to do - or not do - following the change as we know some people really value this. I wouldn't expect news for a while though.

Heyo Folks just wanna chime in here, we are aware the JagexClock and JagexAuto accounts have ceased functioning currently, we need to update our systems to work with some recent Twitter changes and so the team is currently looking into this.

Unfortunately, I do not have any ETA on when these functions will return and if any of the systems will need to be altered or dropped to fit in this new system.

Apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

Yeah that page is wrong - we're working with the relevant team to get it updated.

Good to see they also copied the same DXP live article as last week, on which there was comments that the DXP timer on the website was wrong.

This was a known miscommunication, and gets repeated now, yet again.

Perhaps not release a News Article if you're knowingly wrong, or causing misinformation, or add a disclaimer at least (like; remove the link to the site that still says June)?

{At the very least, hire a test reader, because this has been the third week with typo's, wrong dates, wrong times, and copy/paste errors, this one specifically being repeated twice}

The Double XP: LIVE section in the TWIR is correct - it ends on Monday May 29th.

It's the webpage that's wrong. We've raised that to the team that owns it to fix.

Will there be anyway for me to merge my 2nd jagex account into my first?

This is a great question given this changed based on feedback. We'll raise it to the platform team.

Is this actually true? I haven't been following the development super closely, but I thought the idea was that this change would only apply to money pouch and GE trades, and normal item stacks in inventory/bank would retain the existing 2147m limit. Did they find some way to raise it for everything instead?

Heyo! We have updated the text to remove the confusion at the moment. We will be talking about the Max Cash Update when it is due to launch to help clarify what will change.

We'll be getting back to regular streams shortly including Q&As.

Doom has been with us three months now so he's in a great spot to get that started. The Necromancy Creator Trip (and preparing for First Look next week!) means we haven't been able to start the regular stream cadence we want to do just yet, but after that's all done, it should hopefully be the norm to see streams most weeks.

Totally understand the frustration. We know that's a risk that comes with wanting to be more transparent with things like the Development Roadmap and then seeing something you were looking forward to get delayed.

The main thing is the team are taking the time to get this right and extensively test it. It touches so many things in the game that we have to do as much as we can to make sure it releases as you'd expect.

Based on how much testing has been done by this point, we're optimistic June 12th is the date. As we promised in the post, if it has to shift again (ie. fix needs more time or something), we're going to be open about it and keep you updated on when. Not what we expect to happen though.

Not at all the plan. Max Cash was originally due to drop this week in our schedule until we discovered the engine fix that was needed in that extensive testing pass for the change.

Most of our QOL update work is going into the Community Hitlist Strike at the moment, balanced around development support for Necromancy as we get to that big push later development phase!

This ended up being a much smaller Patch Week than usual, but you should still see a healthy flow of patch fixes on the road to the Hitlist.
