I fully agree that we could benefit from an improved layout within the ability books. Whether that's an outright change or a 'Sort' option.

Currently I'm very much focused on finishing the Necromancy project, but I would love to look at something like this in the near future.

Seems the new launcher thing isn't working for both the site and the launcher on desktop when I have to verify. I mean if it doesn't work, Could I transfer somehow to a email that runescape allows/supports?

The launcher and Jagex accounts are working as intended. Unfortunately, some smaller third party email providers are not.

There is no workaround at this time I'm aware player support are offering. As I mentioned, this is an active incident we're doing our best to resolve but it's out of our hands.

If someone is worried about email delivery, I would recommend Gmail or outlook temporarily. You can always change your email address (and by extension login email) later once the incident is resolved.

Edit: for anyone who may come back to this comment, issues with smaller providers we believe have now been resolved.

There are some others as I mentioned, but I haven't seen AOL come up. You might find use in contacting our support team and asking for some help to check your account, or attempts to upgrade.

I'll mention there may be issues with them, either way.

There are issues reported by a small group of players on some email providers, including Yahoo. Unfortunately there's not a huge amount we can do about that but we're taking steps to work with those providers to solve it.

Updates are being provided on our support site https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/15736988356113--31-MAY-Jagex-Account-Verification

Yep just the message :)

Yep, that made much more sense than actually getting extra shards! Now in QA. Going to look to get that hotfixed today or tomorrow at the latest.

I assure you, I only did the account creation process once. The linking character thing was done pressing the big blue Import Existing Character button. Which called it as an error. Before this, my launcher had both characters. Now they are each in their own launcher.

You can replicate this I suppose by having two accounts on a launcher, opening both, going to the second account on the golden cape hunt, pressing upgrade account and then filling out the first accounts information in order to replicate this. That's all I did before the issue arrived and I've since taken some steps as suggested through the runescape discord in order to get on both.

As an additional detail can you please get somebody to fix this for me. I would like both on the same account. Otherwise the launcher has just become an even more annoying form of logging into my accounts.

I'm eager to figure out what has gone on here, I've tried to reproduce from your instructions all afternoon but am still correctly being sent through the Jagex account creation flow as I would expect. Let me know if the steps below look familiar.

  • Log my RuneScape accounts AccountA and AccountB into the Jagex Launcher
  • Click Play on both accounts so I have two game clients open
  • On the account listed second in the Jagex Launcher (AccountB) go to the 'Event' tab in-game and click 'Upgrade Now'
  • (This opens my default browser to https://www.jagex.com/en-GB/accounts (language may be different but is irrelevant))
  • Click 'Upgrade now' on the webpage
  • When prompted to login despite clicking the Event tab on Ac...

It's unchecked in the event tab as well

Cool, starting to make sense. One last question: Do you actually get extra shards, or do you just get fireworks and a message saying "You already have unlocked the required amount of: Golden Cape Shard"?

Ah wait, you said you've gotten the message, ye, that makes sense. Will get that fixed.

Allowing people to log in with an account name would be nice. Some of us have been playing for two decades and have grown attached to our account info. It also gives some measure of security, since there are two possible logins instead of one.

I lost my personal game account username login as well when I got my Jagex Account, but for me the other benefits (email notifications and ability to change login) in particular, outweighed that aspect. I also just have a main (ignoring back in the day failed pures) but I can see how 20 characters would be super useful for a lot of people as well. I also know a few people who are quite glad to see the back of the username logins they chose years ago that they are less than proud of today!

It still seems to be an issue.

Thanks - it is still under investigation as it does seem the problem persists for delivery to some 'small' email providers and Yahoo ..

Gathering shard, have gotten msg from arch and mining

Was the gathering shard one of the 8 you did for your cape, or does that show as not completed in the interface?

Comment

I'm going to look into this, that should definitely not be happening.
Which shard is it? Any more detailed info you could give me would be much appreciated :)

Yes, you definitely can. Bad luck mitigation should get you a shard pretty soon with that amount of time on the clock.

This is now hotfixed.

Hey, we had a few issues with verification emails yesterday, but that was identified and fixed quickly. Should be good to go now :)

It sounds like you are trying to log into your new Jagex Account using your old login details - the email you chose when setting up your Jagex Account becomes your new login and recovery email, to access any characters you have imported to your Jagex Account. Give us a shout if that isn't the issue and we'll help further.

Comment

You will have to use an email to log into a Jagex Account but the migration is perfectly safe and you won't lose your account provided you apply some basic security approaches such as making sure you can access the email you use for your Jagex Account and the address is secure
