Very nice post! This answers almost everything I've wondered about relating to the shop, except one thing: Why is the shop offerings fluctuating so wildly from day to day? Not even the supposed "daily" section is constant, most days it's 4 items, but some days it's only 2.
I understand the upsides from a sales perspective of going with a daily shop rotation schedule rather than have every cosmetic available for purchase at once. But what possible reason could there be to not have the rotation be consistent? Especially when some outfits will only appear once every 1 - 2 months in the rotation. Is it because you want some outfits to be genuinely "rare", even when they're not tied to a seasonal event, or what gives?
So one of the main reasons for this has been theming the store's offering for a day. E.g. on oct 23rd, the theme on the day was Candy. We had a Candy themed outfit, artifact, cloudburst, afterglow and emote, and we wanted to make it clear that those 5 items are similarly themed and may look strong together. Adding more items to the store that day would sorta confuse that pairing, so we kept it small. This happens quite a bit as we roll out new sets of cosmetics. You can expect this sort of approach to continue even though it wont happen for every item theme.
But that's not always the reason. Other time it's just...implementation details really. Say we find an issue with an item right before the release goes live, it may be far easier to delete the item from the schedule rather than replace it with something else, and close to a release we generally want to minimize changes and risk of breaking things in a far worse way.
We'd like to get to more consistent...
