With tons of free time, started to play the alpha of Asheron's Call, an MMO that some friends had worked on for their summer jobs. Played a LOT of it. During a party, my roommate introduced me to his gf who was a programmer on it, and said, "Dude, show her your character!"

Graduated with a fancy CS degree but had no desire to go work in big tech, despite the raging startup bubble. Ended up using my previous summers' internship savings to live off of and just play games all day.

Having a baby is freakishly similar to streaming to a small channel: you largely talk to yourself, trying to stay upbeat and positive with little chat interaction, and then every so often, someone screams nonsense and then sh*ts all over you for no reason.

We welcomed Juniper X. into the world last week. We're all home safe and sound (if seemingly constantly tired and/or hungry) but she's perpetually dubious of everything around her.

Woke up in the middle of the night and saw a creepy man peeking his head up from beside our bed. I punched him very hard.

Turns out it was the fan on the bedside table and now my hand hurts and I can't stop laughing when I look at the sad fan on the floor.
