Try switching from WiFi to cellular and/or the other way around.
If you did a battle in GW and checked the mods afterward, it unintentionally adds other bonuses to the mods. This is a display issue only. If you inspect the mods before a battle, the stats should be fine.

No. Couldn't update all night long. Can't download the game.
I just checked on one of our Samsung Note 8 devices and was able to update and do a fresh download and install of the game without any issues. You can try some of the troubleshooting steps suggested in this help article: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/mobile/troubleshooting-steps-for-android/
My suspicion is that it may be your internet connection at fault, so trying a different connection would be the first step I'd suggest.

Those are NOT 7-dot mods, they are higher tier 6-dot. Our mods are 6-E now, they confirmed in the Q&A that 6-D to 6-A mods will come.
