Hi RussellRichter,

Can you follow the steps I wrote out in the post right above yours? We'll need that file to figure out what's going on with your launcher. Thanks!

Hi Fabien,

I have a follow up from the team. On your runtime, do you have an equivalent of their AppData folder, usually on C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic Launcher\ on Windows?

If you are able to get that, please send us the host.developer.log file so we can see what issue you are facing. Send an email to [email protected] and in the subject line include "New Game Launcher Issue".

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Testing for this update has now started. A small number of players who have been selected to test the new launcher update will notice a red banner in their launcher. If you are one of the selected players and would like to provide feedback, please use this thread.

Players who have Free or Preferred accounts may post feedback here.

Thanks all!

Hey there,

As we are in progress of planning for future updates, I noted in this other thread here that we are seeking feedback on outliers in Flashpoints. In the other thread I spoke mostly about length or difficulty but you raise another valid concern here as well. Story Flashpoints without an explicit Story // Solo mode and the problems that presents in other difficulties. The tension of the "PLEASE SKIP CUTSCENES" for newer players, etc.

As I did in the other thread please pass on any Flashpoints where you see issues like this! On top of making note of specific Flashpoints, let us know what your core issue is as well as the ideal solve that would course correct that issue for you. This is not a guarantee that we can revamp a FP exactly to your resolution, but this helps us understand where the pain points are and how to focus on improving them.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I received some questions about the above announcement, so I updated the OP with the answers to them.

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

Were continuing to take steps to improve the player experience with SWTOR, so lets talk about some testing well be conducting in the next week.

In short, for non-Steam players, we're updating the game launcher with a much more efficient patching system that is closer to the performance already enjoyed by players on Steam, allowing faster delivery that ultimately translates to shorter download times for our players.

Beginning next week, we will release this update to a small subset of players before releasing it live to everyone. This update will be in the launcher itself, not the game client. The launcher update happens BEFORE the login screen is enabled, so you will still have to log in again as normal when playing the game.

Are players expected to download anything on their end?

Players who have the latest game client with our current launcher will not need to download anything again. However, if th... Read more

Hi all!

First of all, I wanted to thank you again for all your feedback. We're reading all of it and we really appreciated the well thought out posts.

I also wanted to share a few changes we've decided upon after doing some additional internal balance and taking your feedback into consideration.

The first note is we are changing the new Madness Sorc tactical from the design in the OP to:
"Demolish hits all nearby targets affected by your Deathmark."

We are also giving Darkness back their DR on Severing Slash. The originally intended design is still something we want to do, but not without moving that DR somewhere else. You can expect future Darkness changes in upcoming patches to address or re-allocate where their DR bonuses come from.

Although we felt the proposed changes to Hatred were fair, we understand some concern regarding force management based off of the feedback we are reading. As such, we're also making... Read more

I agree with Ashley, we have so many companions all over the spectrum of personalities, egos, motivations, and desires that its fun to see the discussion around everyones likes and dislikes!

I may be a bit biased about our fearless Raven Squad leader, but I think Anri would be a blast to be around. I appreciate people who can crack snarky jokes with me, and she likes gardeningsuch a great hobby!

I would definitely date Vector Hyllus, but maybe before his Joining? I will 100% admit I would be a little unnerved by a whole hivemind listening in , but it would be hard to pass up spending time with such an accepting, thoughtful, and well-traveled person. Out of everyone, I feel like he has the most fascinating stories to share.

Also, I feel very validated that I saw someone else mention Sanju Pyne. ... Read more

Gotta say I love this thread. Imagining how SWTOR companions would act in real life is definitely fun.

I think it depends if it's long-term vs short-term dating. If it's a weekend fling full of hijinks and laughs with someone who knows the best dive bars, I'd date Vette. For committed relationship stability with a partner who challenges you as well as supports you, I'd date Aric Jorgan.

And while dating spy boyfriend Theron is definitely fun to think about, I feel like it would be hard to get a date with him with that ridiculous work schedule.

Hi all!

Just wanted to let you all know I've been reading all this feedback and I really appreciate all the well thought out posts! I wanted to give a couple quick notes to ease some concerns.

We are going to look into making some changes or redesigning the Sorcerer's AOE Tactical, as we understand some people have some concerns with the usefulness of slow and also introducing more slows into into the game.

I also wanted to take a moment to address some Assassin tank concerns as well. The intention of removing the DR from Severing Slash was simply to not force that choice on all tanks. But seeing as some players are feeling that is too much right now, we have decided to roll back that change for 7.1.1. In a future tank balance pass (more on that later), we may circle back to this and address is another way. If we do end up changing the functionality of Severing Slash, it's important for us to give that mitigation back somewhere else. So, for now, we're ... Read more
