And if I understand everything correctly, every queue is going to be a ranked queue, which makes me sad cause everyone will just keep playing the same tems over and over again (just like in every competitive game, you see only meta picks in ranked queue, this is why almost everyone of them has a "normal" queue where you don't play for ranking but just to "have" fun or try/train new things).

So yeah, I was really hoping for this kind of queue and now the news about the update I've been waiting for the most are leaving me with a lot of mixed feelings...

There will still be friendly games that don't affect your TMR, like there are now. Ladder is linked to TMR and the addition of Showdown into the game doesn't change that, for good or for worse, and I don't think we ever mentioned a new ranked ladder at any point in previous sneak peeks or spoilers of this update, and I'm sorry if at some point we gave you the impression that there'd be a new one. I'd wait until the update is live to see, opportunities for creativity are sure to be born :)

(I was kind of waiting for showdown to test "fun" teams but I guess I'll have to buy another account to make a smurf and have fun in PvP then...)

Dividing the queues seemed like a worse idea, because this was after all required from all sort of competitive players and the point was to ease access into PvP. Since you'll be able to change your team on the go, you can play within the meta and also stray away from it into more wacky teams from time to time :)

Hello, my dear Tamers! It's now been over a month since Temtem fully launched, and we're still working hard as ever on creating more content, polishing more features, fixing more bugs, and maintaining everything looking nice and fresh.

It's then time to talk about the future, and more specifically, about the two upcoming updates, which will be fused as one.

The merging and delay of 1.1, and the arrival of 1.2
When we talked about the launch window back during the Golden Week, we always expected it to be a matter of weeks, a month at most. But we clearly underestimated the amount of issues that the launch would have, or the quickness with which we could approach them. Part of this is our fault, part of it was outside of our hands. Nevertheless, we apologize. We know you've been eagerly waiting for some of the features announced for the launch window, with Showdown being the #1 of them, but it's going to happen a bit later than we initially planned o... This is amazing news. I guess you also still need your own viable team to take on dojo rematches and stuff too so it’s still necessary to have. Thanks for the update!

This is wonderful. Does this mean I'll actually be able to play in December? The game likes to bug out during battles on switch and blocks me from playing. Right now when I start, I load into a temsafari battle with my opponents visible but no menu appears and I am unable to do anything. This is the fourth time I've had this happen and I'm really tired of hounding support. It takes days to fix my account and I know its just a matter of time until it happens again, so I've stopped playing altogether. The game is amazing when it works and I would love to play more. Unfortunately with all the bugs right now it is as much stressful as it is fun.

Don't hound support, making a post on crm.gg/iga is the faster and actual way of getting this fixed asap.
We're trying to get the Switch to work perfectly. To eradicate the bugs we needs logs, videos, and descriptions as detailed as possible on crm.gg/bugs so we can reproduce the bug ourselves and fix it. Super sorry for the inconveniences, I know it sucks, but your reports are valuable and important.

Really happy with everything you've showed so far! I just have one question: Showdown teams will only battle against showdown teams? About the ranked battles, will it use our competitive teams, or the showdown ones?

Showdown teams can match against pro squads aka regular squads, they will all compete in the same ladder.

You'll get to choose whether you want to use your competitive squad or a showdown one when you queue.

Yes, the one difference between a showdown squad and a pro squad is the grinding involved to get there, and you'll still need to be good at PvP to win with a Showdown team.
