Is this all happening in one particular save from before 1.7, if I read your wall-o-text :D correctly?

If so the new patch 1.7.1 is supposed to fix that, did it help at all?

Can you start a new test campaign now okay?

Please opt out of that so you get on the new 1.7.0.1 patch, that has other crash fixes in it.

Does that help?

What antivirus app do you use? Make sure the new eu4.exe is in all its exceptions lists.

What happens if you unload GeForce Experience entirely before starting the game?

And what happens if you run eu4.exe by itself, no Steam?

You didn't give us your game settings files, but I'm pretty sure you are exceeding the game's supported resolutions, which are listed at the end of that system.log file.

Make sure you choose one of those in the launcher before starting the game.

Please do a full **clean** re-install of Steam and game:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- exit the Steam app entirely

- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the SteamApps folder
- run steam.exe to rebuild all that

- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

Good luck!

Now you mention it, I have seen previous reports of this happening only when a very large empire is created, covering say 1/4 or more of the map. Especially if a large revolt or war breaks out. Does that sound like your situation?

If so, I previously asked the affected users to make posts in Bug Reports on the issue. Please see if you can find those and add your configuration data and save game to taht thread, or make your own new thread there if you wish.

Still getting the c0000374 Windows error against ck3.exe in that dxdiag. That would normally be a bug in the relevant app, except it cannot be here or everyone would get it. There must be some other component in your Windows installation causing that.

As you can see in that Speccy output there are several failed or ""in progress" Windows updates going back to July last year. If you run the Update utility manually does it find anything to do? If apply that and reboot.

Then run this repair tool:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupt...

Can you use GeForce Experience, fraps, or some other utility to limit the game to 60 fps?

The temporary beta branch is now obsolete as the fix in it is not out of the main branch, so closing thread.

Every opted into it please opt out to the main release so you get future updates, thanks.

In your Xbox app click on the EU4 "More Actions" symbol. View Details then Show All. Does this DLC show there as owned/installed or for sale?

Do you see the Attach Files button just below this text area when you are writing a post? Or just drag and drop them over your post before you commit it.

This may be a bug in the launcher, which seems to require MacOS 12 now. Were you at all thinking of updating MacOS? If so please do that and confirm for me that it helps, then I can report that to the developers.

FYI this game is not supported on any Intel video hardware. That may or may not be related to your problem, but you should update its driver; try Acer support first, failing that Intel https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

Then Right click on eu4.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.

Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

Is that any better? If not, Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)

What game version shows in the launcher, and main game menu?

Please attach here a save game file showing this problem.

Please attach here the latest (ONLY!) game log file, from here:
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\logs\
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

Plus, DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

The point is that purchases from the Steam store are not supported in the launcher in standalone mode, it's only intended for purchases from our store. So please only run the launcher/game from Steam.

If this DLC show sin your Steam "Manage my DLCs" page as enabled - does it? - then it absolutely ought to be in our launcher's DLC tab too. Frankly hard to see why it would not; I see it in your account here as having synced in from Steam for instance.

Can you please try a test install of Steam/this game on any other machine you might have access to?
