Where is the Bug Reports forum, are you asking?

It is a sister forum to this one, you should see a link to it near the top of this page.

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

If you both disable all mods, can you play together then? That will tell if this is a mod or game issue.

The developers do not read this forum; if you believe this to be a game bug then please post in that forum for QA to look into, thanks. Attach there a save that shows the problem.

Good luck!

At least one crash in the AMD video driver there. And did you set the cap I mentioned?
"setting_framerate_cap"={
version=0
value="off"
}

Uninstall that AMD video driver

Is this in a new campaign started since 1.10.1, or one from a previous patch? Or both?

Are you on Mac or Windows? If a Macbook, say, you probably have to reconfigure the trackpad gesture for this.

QA can help only with game bugs, so moved to Tech Support.

Is this save the only one that causes this? Can you start and play a new one okay, under 1.10.1 now?

When this happens, alt-tab back to Windows. Right click on the Speaker icon in the Windows task bar, open Volume Mixer. If you see Steam Webhelper in there , mute it.

Does that help?

From the errors in that log I'm pretty sure this is a corrupted installation or a mod problem. Does this happen in multiple colonies, or just one particular one?

Mods will not cause this, of course. OTOH I have no real idea what would!

Logically it must be a Windows, hardware or perhaps firmware/bios issue, but how to narrow it down further than that I cannot see.

What I can see in that dxdiag is this nVidia issue:
+++ WER2 +++:
Foutbucket LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys_Ampere_SCG3D, type 0
Naam van gebeurtenis: LiveKernelEvent
Which is a problem with that card or driver. And your driver is not quite up to date so let's do a clean update:

- uninstall it with this https://developer.nvidia.com/... Read more

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders - In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

THEN Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

The current patch is 1.10.1 - are you deliberately on an older patch?

What if you run ck3.exe directly from File Explorer? Do any of these issues change?

I don't know what could cause that for you, I am sorry. I take it there are no mods in use?

Does this happen in multiple colonies, or just one particular one?

Please attach here the latest (ONLY!) game log file, from here:
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\logs\
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

Gee, I wonder if we have a Steam and a game/Windows issue here.

The error in your OP here: do you see our launcher okay but that error occurs when you hit PLAY in it? Or that error is when you hit PLAY in Steam, before our launcher appears?

I'm not aware of any known issue about DLCs causing the game to crash, in any edition.

I'm not sure we've established that your issue is the one from the other thread you've posted in. Can you please try this workaround to test that?
