However, I'd like to bring your attention to a related subject:

Zoomed sensitivity isn't consistent across weapon types and zoom levels. Encouraging USA aside, I consider it to be a problem worth noting as it directly undermines the value of the zoomed sensitivity slider.

Example:

While auto-pistols and assault rifles seem to share the same magnification while aimed, the sensitivities are vastly different - pistols are about four times as sensitive as ARs are regardless of zoomed sensitivity value. Given there are no per-weapon category settings, this greatly detracts from gameplay consistency.

Therefore I propose one of the following:

  • Manually adjust zoom and sensitivity ratios to be close to consistent
  • Implement opti...

Maybe I was playing it wrong, but is the intention to go from flight to hover going to be pressing the ‘c’ key? At least for me it felt more natural pressing shift again... Just my take, but I’m only one person... lol

We think it’s better that was so you can use shift to stop flying :)

Hey All,

Thanks to all of the amazing feedback last weekend during the VIP Demo, we have some updates to share on PC Controls. These are updates for LAUNCH (15th Feb / 22nd Feb). Unfortunately we couldn't get these fixes in for the open demo this weekend.

TL;DR - Aiming uses raw mouse input. Flight & Swim controls are improved and more responsive.

Aiming

  • Raw Mouse Input Fixed
    • We found and fixed a bug that caused the symptom of negative acceleration

Flight and Swimming

  • Increase Available Range for Mouse Sensitivity Options
    • Flight and swim sensitivity sliders now allow for more than double the range it offered before. This allows different mouse DPI settings (specifically extremely high or low) to better fit into our in-game swim/flight sensitivity settings.
  • PC Flight Box is n...

Either way a fix was found here: https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/forum/topic/5005-anthem/

If we change GstInput.MouseSensitivity in the config from 40 to 1 and then change all the other sensitivity values accordingly then it almost completely removed the negative acceleration.

Hopefully this helps with fixing everything. Especially since this fix makes the in-game sensitivity sliders useless as 100% is way too low, making it so you can only change sensitivity via config.

Edit: This only fixes sensitivity in fort tarsis. Once you're in a javelin mouse acceleration or smoothing comes back though not as bad as without the fix.

You are saying there is negative acceleration for aiming?

I initially read this as feedback on flight/swim. I will look into this also if its for aiming.

  1. ADDED A SECTION ABOUT CONSUMABLES, DON'T SKIP IT REGARDLESS OF YOUR JAVELIN.
  2. More random edits here and there based on comments made by other posters below.
  3. Added a video with 3 minutes of footage in the stronghold on hard difficulty. Bottom of the post for what suspiciously feels like an Aliens remake, friends.
  4. Latest: added more stuff to highlight different builds. If the original post read like flamethrower + coil was the One True Way, I apologize. Other players are playing the colossus radically differently when it comes to dishing out damage and it's wonderful to see.

There's a lot...

As the title says, the PC version of Anthem feels and plays like something they just remembered to add in at the last minute.

Here is a list of things I have personally encountered in a few hours of gameplay (luckily I was amongst those who managed to login multiple times without any problems) that are honestly jarring:

The menu is very counter-intuitive, while...

Hey,

First off thank you for a very detailed and thorough post. There is a lot of great information here and I appreciate people continuing to provide constructive criticism when there is also a lot of passion pouring out from people who are excited to play the game.

Here are my thoughts on the issues outlined below

One note: the team worked incredibly hard on the below. Without the full context of how many resources and how much time was available for each of the items, its hard to fully grasp the incredible effort that went in, or the reasons why there is still room for improvement. That doesn't mean its good enough, i just wanted to call it out the crazy amount of effort that has gone into Anthem before addressing the feedback :)

Keyboard and Mouse

The build is a little old now and unfortunately some changes were made that arent available in the Demo

Should we expect improved performance in the full version or is this final?

There have been some optimizations since, I don’t have a good way to quantify that for you unfortunately...

EDIT: From u/Isbilen10 “Just did it on PC. It's arrow keys and B, A. People aren't getting it to work because they're doing it before they are supposed to. You need to get past the "Connecting..." and on to the "[Enter] to play".”

2) Bit more info on this if possible please. For example I'm on EU and my friend is on NA, how will that exactly play out ping wise for both of us since you worded it as we will get assigned to a server instead of us picking one?
3) Assume checking ping through Resource Monitor will do the trick then since that's the usual method.
Still a way to show your ping would be a very welcomed feature if possible.
Thanks again for answering.

I believe it match makes based on who the party leader is

Will Anthem feature any way for the players to know how well they performed in the mission? Aka dps/damage done, damage taken, headshots, revives, etc
Also, how will the servers be allocated? Will there be regions like NA/EU/CN/AU or will we connect to one big server? This is mainly aimed at how the average user ping will be.
Will there be a way for us to check our ping too?

1) there are medals at the end of an expedition that reflect your contributions to the mission. It’s not specific stats like in your question 2) there are servers located around the world, we match you to the closest one 3) I don’t think so, I’m sure someone will work out a way to ping them out of game

It’s great to see such a high level of engagement with the players. Also, I’m sure he has loads of other things to be doing with launch right around the corner.

Two thumbs up. He’s going to need them. His must be tired.

You are all very sweet. Thanks for being a great community. I know all of us who are active on social media appreciate it

After a certain period of time it can be made available. TBD when we decide to do that.

If they drop off the face of the planet after the 22nd then its nothing to care about. And AFAIK there's no Bioware Community Manager. Its the Lead Producers mostly replying and they are definitely going to be busy with post launch content.

We will do our best to continue, we agree that’s the correct path forward

Bioware employs at large must be in the thick of it, long hour, lost sleep, being far from loved ones, strained relationships and the real human cost of bringing a project across the finish line.

Say what you will about the game, the post launch complains that maybe or doubts associated with the publisher (or the ''money men'') but lets not forgot every single person that spent long hours, stressing and putting every ounce of effort they had in to the task they had at hand to create this game.

From the QA tester, to Lead Programmer or a Voice Over Resource Producer, it took something out of everyone to make this happen.

So i think that we as a community can come together, wish them luck and steadfastness on the coming days. But also thank them, as individuals for all the efforts put in to this.

Thanks!

Hey - I was trying to say we will keep up regular streams, not commit to weekly ones.

Not really ready to commit to specific timings but we want to do them as frequently as is realistic for us in the madness that will be launch.
