Nice, where is Trialmaster spawn ratio buff?

I've talked with the team about this a few times since Ultimatum launched. It takes roughly 100 Tier 11-13 maps to spawn the fight, or roughly 50 tier 14+ maps on average. We've tested this multiple times to make sure this rate is matching the number of encounters actually being done and it does match. Part of the issue is that some people aren't making it to the end of their Ultimatum trials to spawn him, some people aren't running enough high tier maps and some people who are meeting those requirements are contending with bad RNG. Relative to other league bosses, the Trialmaster has a more frequent spawn rate. I've seen some people speculate that there's a hidden condition required to spawn him (like win streaks) but this is not the case. Your best bet is to be doing trials to completion in the highest tier maps.

Unfortunately our logging didn't happen to include details of what items were vendored so we were unable to identify which users did this. We couldn't ban these users even if we did want to, and there's a lot of internal debate over this, as we do need better clarity over what counts as an exploit and what counts as intelligent abuse of game mechanics. We have since fixed up this blind spot in our logging.

In regards to the feedback in this thread about the exploit bans from earlier this league, I'm seeing rumours about how much it was supposedly used and whether the bans were justified based on that, so I asked the team if we could share some of the information that lead to the decision behind the bans. One key detail that resulted in those 20 accounts being banned is that between them, they generated 711,764 items.

We're still checking a few things and expect to be able to post this either today or on Monday NZ time.

I keep seeing similar comments posted so it seems worth clarifying that the holiday was just the regular weekend and then also Monday. There are 11 public holidays in New Zealand each year and we don't get to pick when they are.

That's how a sizeable amount of this community feels like right now. We want our potatoplants, parsleys and chives back.

Hey everyone, the team is just getting back into the studio after the long holiday weekend in NZ and I'm working on preparing some information about the resource loading concerns that have been posted. We've seen all the threads about invisible enemies, invisible skills, inventory loading etc and will post as soon as we can with more information about this.

shouldn't there be some mentioning about the "survival duration" encounter?

That fix is coming later today.

Can you look into that aswell if not already done?

Edit: I know that thats their trader, but tainted currency is and remains tainted currency after all.

I just wanted to reply to say that I've seen this comment but don't want to say anything else without confirming a few things with my team. Everyone else has gone to bed but I'll follow up with them in the morning.
Edit: Just following up on this today. We locked this account last night so that the items couldn't be removed while we reviewed the situation. Account locks don't show up publicly so it would have looked untouched from the outside during that time. Separately, we've reviewed where items have potentially moved and resolved this as an issue. In terms of people waiting for the proper fix to Ultimatum content (over the bandaid fix we introduced quickly yesterday), this is in progress and we're aiming to have this out within a few hours.

You guys usually don't publicly announce that you've banned players. So why the public announcement this time? Not that I'm opposed to the ban, but your announcing it on the front page this time is different from how you used to handle bans prior. Is this some sort of face-saving move, especially after the launch and streamer priority fiasco?

We have in the past but it's just not very common that a situation calls for it. If you're newer to Path of Exile, you likely wouldn't have seen it happen yet. In this particular case, it was a very public exploit on YouTube and Twitch so it had garnered a lot of attention which means a greater number of people would be invested in the outcome - particularly the perceived impact on the economy if not dealt to properly.

Thank you. Would you mind monitoring the survival encounters so that the anti-abuse fix did not shaft the loot for people running the encounter regularly going forward? I believe some people reported that as a thing shortly after this fix.

We put out a quick hotfix to prevent the exploit from happening. We aim to fix this up as soon as we can in the morning.

This is because of the hotfix to prevent the exploit from happening. We aim to fix this up as soon as we can in the morning.

Now instead of having people slowly filling in game servers and generating instances on different times, with people in different areas you have everyone with a copy of the beach running at the same time and it'll be thousands of people all trying to create instances in very similar times.

Queue is there for a reason. Races are events so less people play and the load in general is lower, it's also crucial for races where in league start what we had (not this league) was fair enough already.

Not sure why you were downvoted. Everyone arriving in town at the same time is the main issue with these sorts of starts. Having said that, this is something we are discussing to see how it could potentially work for the future. Secondarily, there’s an issue where if we did that we would have to figure out what to do with people basically logging into Standard an hour early.

Your other posts as well as this response are candid and I genuinely take them at their face value. The optics though. Not a good look all around, from any angle.

Just sounds like some really bad, on the fly, decision making that got compounded considerably by "subtle f**kery" that lasted all day.

Thank you for saying that.

I posted this elsewhere in the thread but since your comment is near the top, I will repeat it here - We've seen lots of comments about this but haven't seen it for ourselves yet. We are investigating but if you have screenshots or additional information, please DM me. Character names in particular are very handy (more so than screenshots). If we find people abusing this, they will be banned.

Hey Bex, i really dont want to be that guy, but Empy is clearly part of some kind of sponsorship regardng PoE: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/109680540793208832/832905115425439764/unknown.png

He was paid for that tweet but not the stream.

You're the CM, which means you're in the realm of PR. It's already bad enough this process got greenlit in the first place, but the optics get worse the more it's viewed with any finer scrutiny. Empy's friends. Ziggy's SO. But not DS Lily. Why?

Again the whole thing was a total dumpster-fire that should have never happened in the first place, but it's even more yikes because of whom did and did not make the cut.

The honest answer to this is pretty asinine and while it's not what you think it is, it's probably equally frustrating - it's that we didn't have Lily's account name handy and it slipped through the cracks. It wasn't a negative bias towards Lily. You can count that in the tally of bad decisions we made today.

Paying other streamers should be able welcoming new members into the community and showing those people the good things our community has to offer. Don't do stealth advertising, it has a tendency to backfire.

They're required by law to put #ad or #sponsored in their Twitch stream titles. You wouldn't have seen many people with it due to the ratio of people who were part of the campaign and not.
