I'm stoked to try all of the returning ones, honestly. I didn't play them much before they stepped away so they will be brand new to me!

Ah! I had my people mixed up.

My apologies, Waverider I thought you were referring to a person who had made an off-color remark about "well, I got one..."
The person you are referring to does still work for the company and I'm sure they wish that they had phrased it differently, but point taken

I don't know what you're implying here... I'm not making any excuses, more pointing out that the person in question definitely should NOT have said what they said at the time.

I'm afraid that's not how our Dockyard activities work.

The dockyard is the Puerto Rico. It is not a dockyard for any ship you want. Since Puerto Rico was the first Dockyard event and was a rough learning experience for us, we are bringing it back and offering a special way for folks to obtain another ship if they already got PR. The event is not about just getting any desired ship, I'm afraid.

I'll remind you that the person in question here no longer works for the company.

I honestly would not say that PR is the most "powerful", but it does hold the distinction of being the only T10 on the Dockyard list. If you mean powerful in the sense of highest tier then you may be right.

To be clear to everyone - when Ahskance and I put up the poll about previous dockyard ships being revisited, it wasn't specifically with this intention. We honestly wanted to gauge people's sentiments about which ship would be most desirable when the time came to make them available again in some form.

Glad people are happy about it's return! I know I am

Howdy, everyone!

Tonight's Community time will highlight the Gneisenau and we will hand out 4x Bionic Camos for Baltimore / Charles Martel / New Orleans / Algerie in celebration of May the Fourth Be With You!

https://www.twitch.tv/worldofwarships 5pm -7pm!

I'm curious to know which Bionic camos you all have yourselves. I collected most of the 5-9's but I never ended up getting the T10's. How about you?

Oh, well we certainly learned from the first dockyard...

Napoli has an extraordinarily high skill ceiling. A stealthy cruiser with big guns, awesome SAP secondaries, an ice-breaker on the bow, and a 40mm deck can pull off some ridiculous stuff.

Sorry, man. Talking is hard

It's what the article says. To record the video we paraphrased a few things, so some of the verbage may have changed slightly.

You already have the Puerto Rico and finish another from this dockyard? You can get yourself another ship.

Napoli is an absolute monster.

I'd recommend her over the Soviet Commander unless you have a lot of Soviet Premiums in need of a super-commander

That's a good question! I'm not sure about that as we're still in the preliminary stages of constructing the activity. I will be sure to remember that and ask as we get closer. Thanks for making that known to me

As stated in the video, acquiring the Puerto Rico a second time will essentially get you another T10 special ship of your choice, which may even include RB and Steel ships.

F2P's absolutely CAN participate in the dockyard event. Just by playing you can get a load of free items from the dockyard without spending a dime.
The dockyard is intended to be something that earns you a deep discount on a cool and usually unique premium ship while giving you FREE items along the way just for playing.

Dockyard has been an extremely well-received part of the game even after it got off to a rocky start with Puerto Rico.

Our thinking is that people who didn't get PR before want another chance to get it, so we're bringing it back under the new method of Dockyard progression that is far better than the first PR version.

Make sense?

I’d have to go back and listen myself - it’s been a while, honestly.

The devs are the developers and are the primary drivers of content, not folks like myself. Community Managers are there to manage the community. That’s means passing feedback to the developers and finding ways to interact with the community that are fun and helpful. We don’t always get it right, but we do our best!

I don’t know what you mean by this or how extensive this supposed to be, but in most cases I would say this is not correct.

I guarantee that if I could convince Wiochi who runs Wows-Numbers to include cap points in quantifying PR on his site today - people would play the objective tomorrow.

Oh yeah - they are not easy to play. I agree with you there. Easy to play are the USN and IJN BB lines. Those are very straight-forward in how they play.

Germans are more difficult as they do different things, so I agree with you. I really like the German play style so the Hannover is the logical conclusion of that for me

Cap points earned by actively capping is one of the ways you can earn base xp. Stealthy destroyers on average get less damage per game but have an easier time capping than a BB would. This is a way that they make up that difference in XP and are incentivized to attempt capping.

Gunboat DD’s can farm ships all day but aren’t generally as good at capping, so stealthy DD’s need something to help make up for the fact that capping is their forte and that is cap points, but it only makes sense if they are successful. Battleships earn more damage per game than DD’s that excel at capping so the difference is made up for there.
