200k+ matches ending in loss are always hard

Post
Boggzy on Forums - Thread - Direct

Howdy, Folks!
I had myself a Hipper game that came right down to the wire and left me with a 6-kill loss. Only 107k due to the number of DD's in the match, but still was a spicy game.
Share with me some screenshots of your 'most impressive" losses! *Please be careful not to post the stats or results of other players. No need to shame anyone.

Hi, Asym
I don't have data about opinions on Epicenter on-hand. It was a game-mode that we had learned over time was something people disliked, sort of the the way that Ocean is the least favorite map. We began looking for a new game-mode that people did like to replace it and decided on Arms Race.

I see a lot of people equating this "popularity" thing to subs and CV's. Please try to keep in mind that what you see here in the forums is only 1 section of the feedback that we receive. While it may seem, even correctly, that the forums are overwhelmingly against submarines, this is not the case across other areas.

I've noticed that the Forums like to try and draw a straight-line from nearly every action we take back to a revenue motivation. Try and remember that there are things done for monetization and things done to give people more options on how to play the game. The fundamental core of the game is loading a ship into battle and pro...

I'm confused.
What is "the minimum 5 battles per ship" you're talking about?

Missions are completely optional. You can choose whatever path to fun that you want in our game

Epicenter was an unpopular game mode, unfortunately, so the decision was made to replace it with a separate style of play for randoms.

There are actually many ways to poll the general Wows-playing population, and we frequently do!

Sorry, but I have to correct you here.

It's literally the CM's job to write a report every single week on sentiment regarding a wide variety of topics including specific issues brought up, questions we see frequently, and general sentiment. That joins a larger report that makes its way up.

The Forum is not the only medium through which we get feedback, so keep that in mind. There is Discord, Twitch, Social Media, Supertest, Clan Supertest, Privateers, Community Contributors, and even the Wiki Editors. When an issue shows up across multiple feedback sources, we know it's pervasive. If one person tells me in the forums that the Ohio is objectively worse than the Montana because 12 barrels is clearly better than 8, then that feedback won't likely go anywhere meaningful. When folks come into the forums and let us know that the survey regarding insurance questions really upset them - we notice.

I would be very surprised if ...

Moderation occurs when forum rules are violated. If you have reason to believe that is not the case then please write a ticket to CS explaining the situation and they will have a look at it.

Hi there,

Even a superficial look around will prove that there is plenty of criticism, constructive and not, leveled our way that is in no way censored or obstructed and always has been.

We moderate based on our forum guidelines, as one would and should expect.

This is a queue dump that happens infrequently. Notice how one side has fewer T10’s than the other?

This is the exception - not the rule.

When the company is able to say something more definitive - we will.

Obviously the two companies of Wargaming and Lesta are currently in a transition period where certain services and gameplay aspects are still shared, while we work out the separation. A few players also noticed in the forums that Naval Battles still crossed the servers when they ran into a CIS team from NA for clan battles.

There will be some gameplay and logistical aspects that remain shared during the transition period.

When we have more specific information about the separation, it's schedule, or it's workings that can be shared - it will.
I know that's not what you wanted to hear and I'm sorry for that.

Officially, a cruiser that burns like a Battleship is a "Large Cruiser", regardless of gun caliber. Stalingrad, Agir, Alaska, Harlem, JohanDW, and Gouden are all "Large Cruisers".

Personally, when a cruiser that burns like a battleship ALSO has large caliber guns, I tend to refer to them as "supercruisers" like much of the community does, but this is a colloquial term used by the community and not the term World of Warships uses to denote a cruiser that burns like a battleship.

Possibly, but not officially yet. CB in naval parlance refers to "Large Cruiser", while CC refers to "Battlecruiser", but we do not use it internally the way we use CL, CA, BB, CV, DD because we are trying to keep things less complicated in this manner. That does not mean, however, that it cannot change in the future. If enough Large Cruisers are in the game to the point where being designated CB instead of CA is deemed more helpful than confusing, it may happen. ...

The French CA's are fast, mobile, and hit extremely hard. They do not tank well and don't hold up under sustained fire, so camping with a ship like this is not a play-style that will find you much success

"Battlecruiser" is not an official term in World of Warships that translates in to something specific. We have cruisers and battleships as classes and each brings with it a set of actual game-values. For example, Battleships burn longer and have slower reload times on their damage control party than cruisers, but also longer action times.

"Large Cruiser" is a term we use to indicate a cruiser that also possess' the burning characteristics of a Battleship, but still maintains the DCP action time and reload of a cruiser. This is the official WoWs term, but people often refer to them as "Supercruisers" like Alaska, Stalingrad, Agir, Siegfried.

"Battlecruiser" is a term that historically meant a ship that was the size of a battleship, pos...

Oh, I see. Apologies then, I thought the implication was outside sites as I know how important they are to a lot of folks.

I'm afraid I can't agree that the stats are going to become "false". Multiple types of game setups have existed for a long time now and stats include those. Modes like Epicenter, Standard Battle, and Domination all influence the length of a battle and your stats along with them. Your random battle stats have always included the stats from those modes and Arms Race will too so I don't believe stats will experience a major difference with the inclusion of Arms Race.

@IfYouSeeKhaos
We've actually discussed this. One of the things to remember is that independent data-tracking sites like wows numbers are not affiliated with WG or World of Warships. They are purely fan-sites, so we don't based our decisions around how it will affect them, generally.
