Normally patch days are on Wednesdays, but this patch required a special delay of 1 day.

The Randoms matchmaker sorts teams by ship class, ship tier, and by divisions. It does not take skill into effect and is therefore more "random" in this regard.
The result is that you will sometimes run into games where player experience is weighted more heavily on one side, and others where it is weighted perfectly. That's the nature of random.

With regards to Ranked Battles - you cannot run into bots in Ranked. There are time-gates on Ranked Battles to ensure people play within windows and have other humans to play against.

You are correct about how the signups were rolled out - for next time the signups will 100% be open as soon as the messaging is opened to there is less confusion.
That being said - there are already HUNDREDS of people signed up, so it still worked well enough to find Rogues!!!
Press Account Karma is not an issue, but that does not mean you can behave poorly on one. If I hear that Rogues are behaving too Roguish, I will clap that account.

The purpose of the Rogues is to go out and be sunk by the community. We certainly don't want anyone to be throwing games, because that's not fun for EITHER team... but we don't want people trying to stay hidden the entire game either

Yep! Benham was one of the first instances where you could grind out the entire ship at best or a steep discount depending on how far you got.

I'll be streaming over that weekend too! It's gonna be a lot of fun!

Keep in mind that the Rogues are not expected to play 20min games every match. You are encouraged to play hard, play aggressive, and die gloriously so that players can obtain the bounties.
That does NOT mean throw your ship away, but it does mean that there is no glory in surviving
