Because Captains are useful! There are currently three Pan-American ships in-game:

Almirante Abreu

Jurua

Nueve de Julio

Atlantico is the next dockyard ship so she will make #4

Hi, @Ensign_Cthulhu!
Thanks for bringing it up. I suspect the issue here is that the torpedoes were launched just before death and that the animation of the fish hitting the water played out regardless and resulted in a "delay" effect the makes it seem like the torpedoes were launched after death.
In fact - after watching it again I noticed that you can hear the torpedoes being launched just before the death ribbon pops up. He got his torps in the water just in the knick of time, much to your misfortune .

This is part of their gameplay that makes them a unique experience.
Be on the lookout later this real for the RN Battlecruiser line - I'm sure they will have a distinct playstyle as well

It could also be that Conway is aware of more than I am. That's why I offered what info I had available to me.
Not trying to trick anyone - just trying to help where I can

If you only use your x2 RB bonus' on the Harugumo line you can get anything except the Ohio for about 1.9 million FXP - less than the smaland / Hayate.
If you do multiple resets at once, you will also only have to rebuy the ships in the line once .
Research Bureau is an end-game area for those wanting a fun goal to work towards. The ships in the RB are generally unique in their gameplay styles for this reason.

I hear you there - resetting them takes a couple of really solid ships out of the port for a while.

There are no plans that I am aware of to release more ships directly for Free Experience. In general that outlet has moved to the Research Bureau.
You can use your FXP to skip module upgrades while regrinding, skip ships you dislike playing, or even do full resets of lines using only FXP! Harugumo is the favorite line for that as it costs somewhere between 600-750k FXP to do (I forget the number off the top of my head).

This is often my concern - that if we put a historical ship into the game and don't make it stand out (without being OP), that the blowback will be that we are disrespecting something unique by making it ubiquitous.
It's a pickle, ain't it?

So you cannot write a CS ticket. Gotcha.
When you say you paid Steel for the F.Sherm, what you mean is that you converted Steel into Coal because you spent your coal on the Carnot? So you want to refund both and then use your coal to buy the Sherm? Can you confirm this for me?

Some ships have very small citadels. Cleveland, for example, has barely any citadel exposed. If you are in a battleship close to it, you are very likely to simply miss the citadel altogether and overpen by hitting anywhere above it.

Overpenning a citadel certainly can happen, but it’s less frequent than you might think. Atlanta, Cleve, and some of the skinny mid-tier Russian cruisers certainly can be overpenned, but they can also almost always be overmatched as well. It just means that it’s often better to shoot them through the nose than when they’re broadside .

A ship with 460mm guns can uniquely overmatch 32mm plate with its AP, but the caliber and pen are generally so high that firing at light cruisers will result in more overpens than you may expect. The fact that you can literally go THROUGH THE NOSE of almost every battleship of every tier with 460’s means that you will overpen lighter armor more often.

Thats the trade off - that’s the way it’s balanced.

I totally get you.

The armor rework that you’re referring to was mainly designed to somewhat standardize the interaction between cruisers and battleships when it comes to HE pen. As you may recall, 152’s generally pen 25mm without IFHE or being German/British. T7 BB’s were given 26mm armor in many places so they can resist those light caliber guns. It’s far more complicated than that, but you can start there and figure the rest out.

AP overmatch is different. The most common thresholds are:

BB’s:

19mm / 26mm / 32mm

Cruisers:

16mm / 25mm / 27mm / 30mm

The reason for this is to ensure some uniformity across nations, tiers, and calibers when it comes to what can own what, both with HE and AP overmatch.

Ask any competitive Player and they will tell you how significant 30mm AP overmatch is for clan battles and KOTS. It’s one of the if ...
