Before the weekend, we announced three events we are planning to run in the coming month while we get ready to announce our 3.20 expansion. You can check them out {LINK REMOVED}here. We’ve seen a few questions cropping up since the announcement and wanted to take a moment to discuss some of them.

Endless Delve Ladder Threshold The ladder in this event stores the position of who reaches a specific depth first. Players compete to get to this depth, and can then spend the rest of the time in the event pushing as far as they'd personally like to go (and to unlock level-gated random microtransaction awards). This means that we can run the event for a whole week, so that everyone gets a chance to take part, without forcing competitive players to play Delve for ... Read more

In the weeks leading up to our 3.20 expansion, we'll be running three events for players to challenge themselves in three unique ways. All events will be available for both PC and Console, so everyone is welcome to join in! Each event will have a Standard, Standard Solo Self-Found, Hardcore and Hardcore Solo Self-Found versions that you can play in except for Endless Delve, which only has Standard Solo Self-Found and Hardcore Solo Self-Found versions.

Recently we {LINK REMOVED}announced that the ongoing Kalandra League will be extended for a few weeks. While this gives you more time to complete the challenges, you may be wondering if the Lake of Kalandra stays in Path of Exile.

For now, the Lake will not become a part of the core game. When the league ends, all your existing Mirrored Tablets will be deleted, so if you have some stocked, now is a good time to use them.

While we may bring the Lake of Kalandra mechanic back in some form in the future, we don't have any plans we can announce at the moment.

We will announce the exact date of Kalandra League's end soon. Keep an eye on the news!

The Design a T-Shirt Competition came to a close last week. There was a staggering amount of incredible submissions, which has made selecting winners very difficult. Today we're happy to announce our favourite T-shirt designs!

These selections were based on the following criteria: how clearly they represent Path of Exile and how well they'll work on a T-shirt in terms of the impression they'll leave and how difficult it would be to print them. We're still investigating the possibility of creating t-shirts based on one or more of the winning submissions.

We want to thank everyone who submitted their design. It is always a pleasure to see how many talented and creative players we have in our community. We'll be contacting the winners from this post over the next few days to arrange your prizes.

As the end of 2022 approaches, we wanted to take a moment to let you know what to expect in the coming months and over the end-of-year holiday period.

3.20 Expansion Timeline

We've been looking at our upcoming schedule for the next year and have decided to move our 3.20 expansion launch date back from late November to early December.

This date works a lot better for alignment with the holiday period. Previous December launches have shown that launches roughly two weeks before Christmas allows players the most free time to play the league during the holiday season. In addition, this date is well clear of any holiday time that our developers are taking.

We have a busy schedule of releases leading up to Path of Exile 2, so we'll be using this extra time to get a headstart on 3.21.

We have 5 sound designers and 2 composers.


Any stories of memorable unused SFX that you have hanging around because the original content it was going toward got shelved?
This happens occasionally. Something might change quite late in the process, perhaps a skill is redesigned for a monster or a monster is moved to a different place. In any case, we always keep things, as you just never know where it can be used.

Grinding Gear Games has been growing and we've expanded into more of our office building. We're finally settled into our new space and wanted to share some photos with you. The new office space is on the top floor of the building and is home to our Audio team, UI team, and all of our Live Operations (System Administrators, Web Developers, Producers, QA and Community Team).

We are still occupying the same office space a floor down and a floor below that, so we're slowly taking over the majority of the building we're in.
