Community streamer Zizaran is back with another 10-day Class Gauntlet Event which starts on July 15th PDT. Racers will level characters and kill challenging bosses to earn points and compete to find out how each of the classes fare against some of Path of Exile's most difficult encounters. The event will take place in a Hardcore Solo Self-Found Event League provided by us with a range of damage and life mods which are now dynamic. The prize pool is funded by the community and Zizaran's event partners.

Hi! I'm Nick and I've been with the Community Team for a little over a year now. I joined the team just after the launch of the Ritual League. I've been playing Path of Exile on and off since Anarchy League (softcore Andy reporting in!)

Could you please tell us about your current role at Grinding Gear Games and what an average work day is like for you?

My current role covers a huge range of things from looking for feedback or issues with the game, preparing and posting the daily news posts and sometimes helping out with filming gameplay for microtransactions. Later today, we're planning to deploy 3.18.1c which includes a few improvements and bug fixes. In this news post we've prepared a preview of its patch notes.

This patch contains futher improvements to Path of Exile's texture system, alongside a number of general improvements and bug fixes.

General Improvements and Changes

• Improved the texture system's memory usage and performance.
  
• Heist Contracts and Blueprints now display which job level requirements are unmet in red.
  
• You can now change the keybind for opening the Atlas Skill Tree in the Options menu.
  
• The radius of Ground Effects from Map modifiers are no longer affected by increases and reductions to Map modifier effect.

How does the Sadist skill on large elemental cluster jewels interact with Skitterbots?

It does not. Skitterbots inflict their ailments, but they do not have the Sadist passive skill

How would ignite work in this scenario? You hit an enemy with a spell that has 100% chance to ignite for 1000 damage. Elemental Overload procs after a second and you keep damaging the enemy with the same skill. Does the old ticking ignite get overridden by the stronger one due to the damage bonus from Elemental Overload?

All the ignites you inflict will be on the enemy until they expire, but only the highest-damage one will actually apply at any given time. The first time you hit the enemy while you have the Elemental Overload bonus on the ... Read more

General Improvements and Changes

• Improved the behaviour of some travel skills when repeated through Echoing Shrine or the Echoist modifier gained by killing monsters. Flame Dash, Whirling Blades and Dash now repeat in the same direction as the initial use. Shield Charge is now able to repeat, though only the larger area attack performed upon reaching your target is repeated. Attacking in place with Leap Slam now repeats in the same direction as the initial use.

Hello! So here is my story:

I have always liked RPGs. I sank a lot of hours into the Elder Scrolls series, Diablo 2-3 and even tried some tabletop RPGs with friends. I've been playing Path of Exile since the spring of 2018. Mainly on Standard because I don't have that much time to play (only managed to accumulate 930 hours in 4 years), but I started some characters in challenge leagues too, because it was cheaper to gear them there.
