Sorry to say, but it’s intentional!

From the notes of the 7th Winds of Magic Beta patch, which have since been archived. This should’ve been included in the notes for the 2.0 patch, but must’ve slipped the net - we’ll work that out.

This is helpful information! Thank you for the update.

Thank you for your superbly detailed report! I’ve queried this with our developers and hope to have an update for you soon.

Could you please provide a screenshot of the error displayed, @Jurra?

Comment

Hmmm okay, so the crashes only occur in DirectX 12, or have I misunderstood?

Comment

So we’re actively looking in to this, but in the mean time please try running thorough the solutions listed here which may well help with what you’re experiencing despite being intended for a specific error.

Based on the information within the logs, it appears your GPU is crashing. Please perform a clean re-installation of your GPU drivers using the instructions here.

If the re-installation of your GPU drivers does not improve the situation, consider checking if one of your components is overheating. More information on how to do this can be seen ...

Oh no! It sounds like you’ve done a lot of research already, but there’s some other solutions you might not have tried yet. I’ll paste our usual recommendations below, but you can ignore any you’ve already done of course:

The PC crashing or becoming unresponsive usually indicates a hardware or driver issue of sorts, as Vermintide 2 operates in protected memory and should never be able to directly crash the PC. Due to it’s demanding nature, it could be highlighting a hardware or driver instability.

  • To start with, we recommend performing a clean re-installation of your GPU drivers using the instructions below:

    • For NVIDIA GPUs: ...

If you catch any crash reports, please send them my way.

The issues reported 2 and 3 days ago haven’t yet been marked ‘Acknowledged’ and thus haven’t yet been raised in our internal database. They’ll be raised eventually, either later today or tomorrow - but please be aware some issues can take more time than others to be resolved. We don’t recommend checking after every patch, unless the patch notes explicitly state that the issue has been resolved.

If anybody happens to experience this as host, it would really help us out if you could provide us with the corresponding console log.

Your console logs can be located using the instructions below, and the timestamps should help with identifying the corresponding session.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2\console_logs

Do you own the Shadows over Bögenhafen DLC?

Are you using Avira Anti-Virus? I ask as it’s been known to interfere with the workings of the cores in that sense.

What is your ‘Worker Thread’ count currently set to?

Our developers are looking in to this. Unfortunately, I’m not able to provide an ETA as to when this will be resolved, as we still need to identify what exactly is causing it to occur. Apologies for the inconvenience.

We’re still working on this, apologies for the inconvenience.

Please, make sure you’ve attempted the workaround. If you’ve had no success with this previously, see step 8.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2
  4. Open the user_settings.config document in Notepad or similar editor
  5. Search for (CTRL + F): render_settings
  6. Underneath that, create a new entry with the line: gui_bloom = false
  7. Save your changes
  8. If this does not work, please check to see if there is already a gui_bloom entry set to true, and change it to false

I’d recommend that you reach out to Virgin Media and explain your issues, as this seems to be isolated to the ISP.

Sorry about this @ShivaX, I will chase this up for you on Tuesday.

Which ISP are you with, @HappyPepeTheFrog?

There appears to be a pattern emerging in which customers of the ISP Virgin have been experiencing connectivity issues in Vermintide 2.
