Absolutely batshit insane take.

How in the world doy ou think it's even remotely ok to add an automated system that will f**king punish missclicks. Like this is one of the most insane justifications any Rioter has ever put on something.

A single wasted summ wont be enough to trigger a penalty.

Currently the version of "soft inting" we're looking at is the frustrating and obvious stuff we dont have defenses against right now. For example:

  • Following your jungler around and taking their camps
  • Selling all your items to buy 6 saphire crystals
  • Wasting your summoner spells.

These actions are difficult to detect right now, and even more difficult if the player does them for a bit and then returns to playing normally. Our goal with this round is to get some of these actions picked up by our system so they are punished appropriately.

We don't currently have plans to action against the version of soft inting that is 'my teammate is playing below the level I expect of them.'

Not on this first pass, no.

I am glad to hear this.

But as opposed to taking just a punishment approach, has there been any thought about providing LP/MMR mitigation for the teammates affected by the inting/griefing?

LP mitigation for feeding was added by my team earlier this year. It's good, and we like the effect it has on players.

But that only helps the players playing ranked games, and doesn't remove the frustrating experience of playing with someone who isn't trying to win. I think we need both systems, but detection is where we're starting.

Making sure we aren't punishing false positives is a big part of what makes this work hard.

Atleast use that for the cheater, give them a well deserved reaction

That was pitched too, but we didn't really want to spend time on cool animations that would only be seen by cheaters. Better to spend those calories on the players who aren't cheating.

Fun fact:

Early in development we had a concept art pitch where it would do the chains from urgots ult kill animation. We scrapped it for exactly this reason (it was too scary to play for people who weren't being caught cheating)

Griefing: following your jungle around taking camps or intentionally feeding

That's just me tho, don't know the official stance

Griefing is the word we use to encapsulate a specific set of game actions that boil down to "making it hard for your allies to play the game"

Here's some examples of griefing:

Using anivia wall or trundle pillar to block off your ally.

Using Tahm Kench/Kalista ult to interrupt your allies or try and kill them.

Following your jungler around and trying to take last hits from them.

Pointing out ally positions

Buying a support item just to reduce an allies gold income.

Definitions change from person to person, but these kinds of actions are generally what we're trying to capture with that report category.

Whats the gameId? That should still be around in your match history.

Confirming that chat restriction penalties have nothing to do with the number of reports you receive. One report is enough to kick off the evaluation system and extra reports arent considered.

In the ticket form put your own Riot ID (or an obviously fake one) and let the agent know what happened in the main message.

A 'priority' position is one of the two least requested roles, to try and make sure there's enough players in each role.

When selecting your role, it will show that two of the roles are marked as 'priority'. At least one of your roles must be a priority role in order to queue.
