Hi everyone,

The team is finishing up testing and will be doing another release in a few hours. At this time, please do not perform a re-install. When I update this thread again, that is when the new update is pushed live and we would like you to open the launcher again and let us know what state you're in.

Hi racknut,

It looks like when you restored from a back up, your game is now in an inconsistent state. If you do a re-install that should get you working again. Re-installing right now will unflag you from the testing pool, however, there is a very small chance that you could be selected again as a tester when we do another round of testing.

We are having discussions on compensation plans for the players who were impacted, and we'll have a better idea of what this looks like once testing is 100% concluded. Appreciate you working with us through this.

Constructive criticism is welcome and always has been. We've stated that multiple times. If criticisms were entirely removed from the forums, the vast majority of the threads that currently exist would be gone, and we certainly wouldn't be moving forward with a new platform. I'm always on board with reading and gathering feedback that is helpful and constructive. My only ask has ever been that people are respectful to us and to each other.

The team has made some configuration changes in an effort to fix the issue that some players are having with the error messages they are seeing when using the new launcher.

For the players who were impacted by this error message, we are asking you to please open the launcher and let us know if these changes fixed your issue. We�ll be keeping an eye on this thread for updates.

Hi everyone,

We're going to pause the test run around 9:30am CT today to review all of the feedback we've received.

Thanks to everyone who's been submitting feedback and the log files. We're investigating everything and fixing those issues to push out a patch today that will get all of you in working order again. I'll be updating this thread with more info when I have it.

Hi everyone,

I have news to share about changes that will be coming to the SWTOR Forums in that we are moving away from the current platform and will be utilizing a brand new forum platform beginning September 29th!

This migration will move out in phases as we build out a forum space that is uniquely SWTOR. First and foremost, I�m sure all you are wondering about what will be happening to the current content on the forums. They will remain as they are, as all are being converted over to the new platform. As with any project of this size, there could be things that may not appear correctly or may be missing, so if you notice that happening with your content, please let us know. And just like with the current forums, the new forums will still only be available for use to Subscribers but will be viewable by anyone.

Hi Fabien,

I have a follow up from the team. On your runtime, do you have an equivalent of their AppData folder, usually on C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic Launcher\ on Windows?

If you are able to get that, please send us the host.developer.log file so we can see what issue you are facing. Send an email to [email protected] and in the subject line include "New Game Launcher Issue".

Hello everyone,

We�re continuing to take steps to improve the player experience with SWTOR, so let�s talk about some testing we�ll be conducting in the next week.

In short, for non-Steam players, we're updating the game launcher with a much more efficient patching system that is closer to the performance already enjoyed by players on Steam, allowing faster delivery that ultimately translates to shorter download times for our players.

Beginning next week, we will release this update to a small subset of players before releasing it live to everyone. This update will be in the launcher itself, not the game client. The launcher update happens BEFORE the login screen is enabled, so you will still have to log in again as normal when playing the game.

As Chris wrote in his post, these changes are tentative and we're looking for feedback. I understand that you all may have strong feelings about these, but we are asking if you can explain why you feel a certain way and in addition to that explain what a preferred solution or change would be.

Hi LanceDefender,

Galactic Season 3 will be coming in our next game update which we are calling 7.1.1. We're finalizing the details right now, so I don't have more to share at this time, but I can at least confirm that GS3 will be coming in the next update.

Hi Danag,

Can you give us more details, like an exact step by step in how you arrived to that state? We need to understand everything you did in order to reproduce the same path/experience.

It would also be helpful if you could tell us what was the last thing you did before realizing you were in this state.
