Had to double check this one (I made these rewards near the start of the project), but, yeah that all seems to be hooked up and working with a worn op.

They are mechanically similar with some curve balls thrown in. For example, in the middle of your infernal star is a band of pyrefiends rather than a friendly sprite.

No you won't need to opt in to pvp, and as they are group events I would advise you don't do these with pvp on.

The events will only appear at certain times (according to the schedule we added to the newspost), but that schedule should run indefinitely from now on - they are not being removed like the demon invasions were.

We haven't added those notes back into the game with this update.

Ironmen can participate in the events and gain rewards like a standard player.

The enchant will also upgrade HSR and the LOTD relic (although the relic won't have access to the extra teleport).

All the combat events, KBD included, use scaling health based on the amount of players participating in the event (Similar to how clawdia works during the beach). Hopefully this will keep the events as a challenge no matter how many people engage.

When it comes to special encounters, it can come from special skilling and combat ones right?

Bit iffy about spawns appearing at certain set times but give it a go on update day and see how it all works.

The three special encounters are the Evil Bloodwood Tree, the Infernal Star and the KBD Rampage. The tree is pure skilling, the KBD is pure combat and the Star is a mix of the two. All three of these give you drop chances on the Dark Onyx Core in the form of a Very wild sack of rewards (open it and some loot plops out!).

The reward is an enchant (using the same system as the ones that can be gained from ED4). The enchant when consumed will power up all LOTD rings, the relic and HSR rings (as HSR was viewed as a direct upgrade to LOTD). The relic, however, will not give you access to the new teleport.

I'm afraid with limited time available to me I was laser focused on just getting more anima into the game, so no troves this time.

It's worth saying: adding things to the loot table of a boss with the streak mechanic is not trivial, and the added complication of the timer on the troves would probably make this a tricky change.

If it just replaces the common drop and the value of the Anima stays low, would kind of lower gp/h of streaking.

I'm assuming it has some other different implementation?

Just to copy what I said in the other thread for visibility:

"I've actually added it as a guaranteed secondary drop, so it should always be an addition that comes at the cost of nothing else. There is a couple of reasons for this:

  1. All other bosses in EGW guarantee a certain amount of anima dropped on each kill as standard as a secondary drop that doesn't impact the other drops.

  2. It made it much easier to fit into the dark sorcery of the streak drop system."

As all the arrows have 100% chance to proc their effects if they hit, the ranged skillcape does nothing for these arrows.

I posted this on another thread, but as this is the main one for the news post I'll paste it here as well (with some minor tweaks for clarity in this context), some clarification on how the donating and claiming prizes will work:

Each time you donate to the Secret Santa, you will be donating a single stack of items. The total value of that stack must be 10kgp on the GE for it to be donated. Any item (bar bonds) that can be traded on the GE can be donated to the Secret Santa. You can donate as many times as you like, but there will be some minor incentives to donate a small amount a day (I'll let you see what they are on Monday), as well as a few tasks in the yak track that ask you to donate a certain total value of items (not necessarily in one go). Ironmen can donate items to get task progress and the cosmetic incentives available, but their items will be destroyed when donating, rather than going into the prize pool.

Hi all,

To try and clarify this a bit, each time you donate to the Secret Santa, you will be donating a single stack of items. The total value of that stack must be 10kgp on the GE for it to be donated. As for claiming items from the Secret Santa, the prizes available will be almost entirely made up of the prizes people have donated. If there are too few prizes in the pool you can be given one of the back up prizes listed in the post, so...

We have just pushed a hotfix that will stop your target being lost when using Cease. This should stop issues with defensive thresholds being free and food not causing adrenaline loss.

Maybe make it so you can't attack your target at all for like 2-3 GCD after using the ability, that would be one way of fixing it, or something idk

We have just pushed out a hotfix which should cover this. The ability will now keep your target rather than dropping it.

Hi all,
We have just pushed a hotfix that should hopefully resolve both this Evil tree issue and the Bork issue of using two attempts on leaving the fight early (this will still use one, so for best results be as ready as you can to kill bork before entering the fight!). Thanks for raising them and sorry for any inconvenience!
