This is a long one, and I think it's a ton of quality content.
Hi all. A few reasons for the minor changes. It'll be back to normal as of next week!
We wanted to make a number of changes to Darkmeyer content, but we wanted to give ourselves more time to get it tested (and prevent it being released next week instead).
It's a pretty long Gazette and needed more time to get by our Editorial team.
I was due to host the Q&A but I'm feeling rather unwell today. The questions in Mod Acorn's Q&A thread will still be asked on Friday (she's edited the thread text too).
Shiba's second link takes you to the Support Centre. Searching something like 'ban' would have sent you to this page: https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115002238729-Account-Bans.
At the bottom you're able to appeal the ban. If you were hijacked at the time of the ban then you'll be unbanned!
Hi all.
We've investigated the cause of the clan chat disruption.
It was an unintended effect of planned maintenance. There was a necessary reboot of a module that we thought was unrelated.
We'd like to apologise for any disruption, and for not communicating prior to beginning maintenance.
You shouldn't encounter any further issues. Apologies again.
External link →Is there a way to do it without canceling the membership entirely? I still want to play until the subscription is done.
Cancelling your subscription doesn't end your membership there and then. We don't take away the membership that you've paid for.
But my brother who had the same thing happened to him after buying a bond and getting charged an international fee, initiated a chargeback. His account got banned and to get it unbanned he was forced to pay the international fee as well not just the bond price. So there has to be a way for you guys to add a warning for international fees on the cart if you are forcing players to pay it.
We wouldn't make anybody pay international fees. When chargebacks are made we put their accounts in a status called 'negative credit'. It's not a ban, but it does stop the account being played.
It's done to prevent people from buying something, charging it back, and then simply getting it for free. In the event you ever want your money back then submit a payment support ticket for a refund here: https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360000982997-Request-a-Refund.
I'd encourage you to contact your bank to see how they handle international transactions and whether you can forego fees.
...We don't add additional transaction fees - the price you see in the store is the price you pay. In your statement does the fee originate from Jagex or from your bank? We're based in the UK, so some smaller banks might add international fees, but that's very unusual.
Hey! They'll get to your ticket, and it's like u/barungszszs says, they'll remove the permanent status but you'll need to then do the de-Ironing in-game which takes seven days.
Ordinarily they get to Ironman support tickets in less than a day, but with the influx of players under lockdown it's taking longer than usual. They've been able to increase the size of their team, but that took longer than it would usually (onboarding and training new staff under lockdown is doable, but just a bit trickier).
Is there any particular reason why the partnerships survey in the ingame mailbox was silently sent out with zero announcement, plus what appears to be a gag order on content creators?
It went to just over 44,000 players, all chosen because they voted in last year's Partnerships poll and they've been recently active. We wanted initial feedback from the voters last time before we pitch anything solid. There was no accompanying messaging because we did not want to lead anybody's way of thinking.
Content creators received a separate survey (same questions) at the same time we began sending them to the players mentioned above. There was no gagging, we said they could make content on the questions if they wanted to.
Address GE Scambots
What they do is against the rules, and the anti-cheating team do ban/mute them. Keep reporting them when you see them!
Update on group ironmen please!
Each month's Gazette has a project update section, Group Ironman is included: https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/gielinor-gazette-may-2020?oldschool=1

We talk about it most weeks. It's also worth noting that we only announced it at last year's RuneFest rather than years ago. Each month's Gazette has a project update section, Group Ironman is included: https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/gielinor-gazette-may-2020?oldschool=1
It reminds me of Torchlight and now I'm desperate for an ARPG set in Gielinor!
Theres too many good ones, someone pick for me
Genuinely how I feel too. Even the honourable mentions would each run away with the competition at any other time!
Read every single book in-game and unlock flying book pet?
Hey all. Since this thread appeared I've been able to get some answers about the situation. I don't want this to be construed as any sort of smackdown. I genuinely believe there's some sort of misunderstanding, and I've asked that we get in touch with Rodolfo.
I don't think I need to delve too deep into the nitty gritty, but the key things to note are:
In-terms of in-game music, we discovered back in 2018 that we could use MIDI files from a RS3 back-up (the same 2012 one we've used for Soul Wars) in Old School. We took the tracks Vanescula, Bloodbath, Conspiracy, and Bait for the release of A Taste of Hope. Some minor modifications were needed since those tracks use instruments which don't exist in Old School, but the modifications were done by a member of the Old School team. That work was a success, and we did the same for Fight of the Basilisk, Jaws of the Basilisk, and Lair of the Basilisk. Incidentally we've also done similar things with the tracks Elven Se...
Read morethe incident being referenced in this thread was not reported in-game
Hold on, do people really not report shit? Why do they think the report button is there if not to, like, report things? No wonder people get away with shit if nobody is reporting it!
I wouldn't be so quick to blame the players. I think it's like u/Glum_Reaper said...
I think I can speak for most when I say we've given up thinking it [the report abuse button] helps. Jagex should do address our lack of faith in the game's built-in report system. If we think it works, we'd use it.
