With weekly resets in each region, we’re making the following adjustments to three raid encounters.

• Battle of Dazar’alor
  • Lady Jaina Proudmoore
    • The random Bombard locations in stage one are now less likely to light a Zandalari Ballista on fire when players are not nearby.
    • Chilling Touch now begins when Arcane Barrage is interrupted (previously was when Nathanos is freed).
    • Prismatic Images now spawn closer to Jaina (was centered on the middle of the area).
    • Icefall is timed to no longer coincide with full power Gathering Blizzard in Mythic difficulty.
    • Gathering Blizzard and Freezing Blood should now be more responsive in Mythic difficulty.
    • Jaina’s health has been reduced by 5% in Mythic difficulty.

  • The Restless Cabal
    • Void Crash and Crushing Doubt now prefer ranged targets...

In WoW Classic, you’ll have the following character limits per WoW account:

• A maximum of 10 characters per WoW Classic realm
• A maximum of 50 characters across all of the WoW Classic realms in your region
• Only one faction per realm on PvP realms
• No overlap or regard with the character limits in Battle for Azeroth

You’ll be able to have up to 50 Battle for Azeroth characters and up to 50 WoW Classic characters at the same time.

Nazjatar is starting in an advanced state for ease of testing and access to more of the content. This area has a wide variety of activities that are available to test, including rare mobs, treasures, timed events, PvP War Mode events, and World Quests. To get started, you’ll need to find the “Dread Pirate Placeholder” NPC. For Alliance test characters, you’ll find him in Boralus, in Tradewinds Market, on the way to the Flight Master. For Horde test characters, look for him on the dock in the Port of Zuldazar, right next to the Banshee’s Wail. I apologize for the miscommunication. The bug, and resulting correction, apply to Army of the Dead Ghouls, not your main pet Ghoul. We believe the main pet Ghoul isn’t exhibiting this bug and doesn’t need changes.

For clarification, this only applies to Essences that already had a global cooldown. Azeroth’s Undying Gift (the short-duration defensive cooldown) still does not.

This is already the case, and has been for a very long time. I just did clean installs of the retail game and then the PTR, and the PTR download was about 1/10th the size of the retail download.

In the next update to the Rise of Azshara PTR, we have a few class and Essence changes coming as we continue to iterate on these areas.

If you’re still not testing the PTR (Public Test Realm) with us, and you want to, we’ve made it easy to get started. Just follow these steps:

CREATE A PTR ACCOUNT:

• Log in to Blizzard Account Management.
• Select Games and Subscriptions.
• In the Starter Editions & Public Test Regions section, select Create PTR Account.
• Click the Create Account button.

JOIN THE PTR:

We recently completed a wave of suspensions for World of Warcraft accounts that were found to be operating third-party software that undermines the security of the World of Warcraft client. Reverse engineering and bypassing security protocols that safeguard against client modification is a clear violation of our Terms of Service, and we regularly take action against such behavior.

Many of the suspensions issued were for 180 days, as the exploit we detected allows for very malicious activities such as gameplay automation or rotation/interrupt botting. Upon further review, we found that some suspended accounts appeared to be only using the detected exploit to do client-side character model alteration. That is an activity that we would prefer to respond to with a warning, rather than a suspension, this time. As a result, we have reversed all of the suspensions issued in this action.
