Welcome to the Cataclysm Classic Firelands PTR.

This patch will include the Firelands raid, the Elemental Bonds questline, the legendary staff Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest, some minor guild updates, and the new increased challenge difficulty option for dungeons.

Some of these features are not available for testing yet, and will be added to the PTR over the next several weeks.

The main focus for this week’s PTR build is the Regrowth and Molten Front quest hubs.

  • Players will help Malfurion and the Guardians of Hyjal secure The Regrowth in Mount Hyjal, then create a portal to Molten Front to attack Ragnaros’ forces in their home realm.
  • To get started, find the new NPC, Molten Frontaur, in your capital city. He will port you to the Regrowth and get you started on your quest.
  • This questline requires gathering Marks of the World Tree to unlock new quest hubs.
  • To streamline testing, Molten Frontaur will also sell Commendations o...

Belga’s gems being edible allows Earthen to eat/drink to recover health and mana.

We’re working on some updates to Earthen eating.

First, we recognize that the Earthen Well Fed secondary stat bonus is not providing the intended power level. We’re increasing that effect.

Secondly, we’re making Belga’s gems edible to Earthen, improving their quality, and greatly reducing their cost.

We’ll let you know when the hotfixes to make these adjustments go live.

On Thursday, September 5, we’ll open the Cataclysm Classic PTR for testing of patch 4.4.1 – Rage of the Firelands.

This patch includes the Elemental Bonds questline, the legendary staff Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest, and a few minor guild updates.

We’re also planning some increased challenge difficulty options and rewards for dungeons, and we look forward to sharing more about that soon.

When the PTR first opens, the focus of our testing will be on the new daily quest hubs.

  • Players will help Malfurion and the Guardians of Hyjal secure The Regrowth in Mount Hyjal, then create a portal to Molten Front to attack Ragnaros’ forces in their home realm.
    • This questline requires gathering Marks of the World Tree to unlock new quest hubs. To streamline testing, we’re including a new PTR-specific vendor, Molten Frontaur, who will sell Commendations of the World Tree to help you get stocked up on Marks and progress through the content at a much quicker...

Thank you for the report. This helped us identify an issue.

We’ve deployed a hotfix to the game, so that:

  • Brann now has an equal amount of attack, spell, and ranged attack power relative to all classes he’s joining, and his stats now increase as expected when the player-character is buffed.

We re-enabled the content a couple of minutes ago at about 11:27 a.m. PDT.

If you’ve been logged in throughout, you may need to log out of the game and log back in to pick up your next quest.

Thanks again for your patience!

Updated 11:30 a.m. PDT

We’ve fixed the issue and re-enabled the content in-game.

A few minutes ago, we disabled the new content that had previously unlocked today.

This was a necessary step for us to be able to investigate and address a priority issue.

We will bring this week’s new content back up as soon as we’ve fixed the bug.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We’re currently working on a hotfix that will implement the Deserter debuff for players who leave a Group Finder dungeon early.

This penalty will apply to early leavers in all Group Finder dungeons, not just Ara-Kara, City of Echoes.

Thank you for your feedback!

We’re aware of and working on diagnosing and solving issues that are affecting the performance of the Auction House in WoW. At this time, the Auction House is up, but is experiencing degraded response times.

We’ll let you know as soon as we have updates on the situation.

Thank you!

We’ve identified an issue that is going to take some time to fix. Therefore:

• Brawl: Deepwind Dunk has been replaced with Brawl: Comp Stomp this week.

It will return to its normal slot next Brawl rotation.
