I would like to add that there is something coming in the next patch that might making some people here a little happier.

Clean it up or I’m shutting it down.

On the plus side, earthquake is getting some buffs and bug fixes that will make it better in general.

I’m so sorry that we can’t be friends. I was raised in a very strict habs household. Although I do root for Vancouver now.

I just want things to be back to normal for boxing day for the best hockey tournament of the year.

OK, who leaked it?

It is intended behavior. I updated the tooltip to be more clear. I’m working on the upheaval node right now.

Just going to do a little housekeeping here. Few posts getting a little topic adjacent so I’m going to remove them.

This topic has not changed our plans for 1.0 release on the topic. Just as before, we would love to have multiple genders. We still don’t have the resources for it as a 1.0 feature. As we can see it is a popular topic and something that most players seem to either really want or not care at all about.

We are still interested to hear if people want or don’t care about getting more genders. Do you care about getting more than 2 genders? Do you care about getting full on character editors? Would you prefer a few (like 3-5) options for each class maybe? I don’t know what we will do but options are on the table still.

I think that was the experiment time and then reverting back to the way it was which doubled the time. I also died and I didn’t mention that I crashed because I was trying to work at the same time. I probably could have done it sub 10 mins pretty easily.

I think that one of the main problems is the disconnect in our vision for when level 20 skills are supposed to be easily accessible. Level 63 is early to be regularly playing with fully leveled skills. We considered locking the max level of skills behind character levels. Have a sliding scale of max skill levels. So at say level 63 max skill level would be say 15 so the respec time for a “max’d out skill” would be much faster just because you can’t get it up to 20. We figured that it would be better to let people get up to 20 earlier if they really pushed for it though.

I know people aren’t really calling for this but I just want to be clear that we have no intention of making skill respecs completely free. It will pro...

It’s an attempt to make melee skills be more reliant on your weapon to emulate a “local” stat.

The base damage of a skill is not affected by the skill level. There are no hidden skill power stats.

OK, the 6 hours number was bothering me a bit so I ran my own test. Without cheating, I took a level 16 skill and timed how long it is to respec back to 20 in end game.

18 mins.

I started the timer while I was in town and I also died in the arena which I’m sure slowed me down a ton.

Hi Dingus_Khan, welcome to the forums. I’m sorry you lost all your stuff. There is a rare bug that can cause this to happen. We’ve got some changes coming next patch that should stabilize it more. It can happen if the game crashes right as a save is being made.

I probably can’t help restore it unfortunately. It should have attempted an auto repair when this happens.

The saves are stored locally on your own machine, we don’t keep saves on our server at the moment. When the game goes multiplayer, we will store saves on our servers.

You’ve got a ton of great thoughts in there. We can do a much better job at presenting the characters and their stories. I’ll be honest, I haven’t listened to the Acolyte’s intro video in quite some time. I watched it a ton when they were getting made but I tend to skip it when working now. I’m waiting for a re-import to happen right now so I can’t really go check it.

I’d also mention that the early character development is not complete so it will be getting significant changes and updates before 1.0 launch. The preparation of revamping the back end is coming next patch. Won’t mean much for people using it but it is getting worked on. Post launch, we will continue to upgrade systems like this. We’d really like to eventually also have more story driven cut scenes between chapters and during major events that will show the character’s growing with the story.

I’m going to speak to how I personally feel about the acolyte and her particular brand of magic. I really don’t th...

I think we can just let their opinions be. It’s personal feedback and while I don’t agree with it they are welcome to express it.

If people have new opinions on the matter they would like to share, that’s totally cool. This is a sensitive topic in general and I’d like to avoid this turning sour.

Hi there meridian, sorry to hear that happened. It’s unlikely that we can fix it. I suspect that the save files may have gotten deleted and it’s gone back to the old system in the registry which is why almost everything is gone except a very old unique item. I’m assuming that the shards which remained are all older ones too.

There are a couple possibilities that we might be able to use to recover it. First up, if you have linked your steam account, the cloud save may have kept a copy online.

We also keep a backup version in the save folder that you might get lucky with too.

In C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\Eleventh Hour Games\Last Epoch\Saves you’ll find Epoch_Local_Global_Data_Beta and Epoch_Local_Global_Data_Beta_temp. If the temp version is quite a bigger than the non-temp version, you can rename the non-temp version to Epoch_Local_Global_Data_Beta.bak and then rename the temp version to Epoch_Local_Global_Data_Beta. This will restore the last version ...

Thanks guys, great links. Just for the record, we know exactly how to fix the zone respawning problem. We’ve had a plan in place for it for years that is still going to work well. It should happen for offline and online around the same time that multiplayer launches.

It’s one of those things that we could have spent a huge amount of dev time fixing knowing that we would have to scrap and redo after multiplayer or just live with it as is until then. We know it’s frustrating now but the game will be better overall because of this.

They can still be gambled for though.
