You create a new character.

We can’t wait to let you try to survive in the Through the Ashes DLC for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous! Here are some interesting facts about it:
1) You will be playing a simple citizen, and it will be extremely hard to arm and defend yourself;
2) Rope is your best friend!
3) Every enemy can end your life, but there might be a way to avoid the fight;
4) Food and medicine are scarce in the burning city, so count yourself lucky if you find it!
You will be able to test your survival skills starting this Thursday.

This is a really, really annoying bug that I wish Owlcat acknowledged and fixed in 1.3, but as far as I know nothing's been said on it.

It applies to basically every piece of worn equipment - potions, scrolls, weapons. Makes playing a smaller race as your MC (including Dwarf!) really annoying, half the time I can't even see my Dwarf MC behind his giga-sized Greataxe, it looks ridiculous. It's like the game gets confused and uses Large or Huge sized weapon models instead of small ones.

Maybe I'll try my luck and ping u/OwlcatStarrok?

I've marked it for investigation. Not sure about 1.3 though.

What! Again? Is this the live version?

Did my own playthrough as an Angel - 2h warrior. Started as Chaotic Good atheist character, ended up as a Lawful Good follower of Iomedae. Never regretted the choice.

Oh well ... thanks for the answer, anyway. Just to be sure, does Owlcat has any plans for future DLCs for Kingmaker, patches and such? Or is it finished, left to be as it is now? I'm asking because I don't want to start modded game just to find that a class / race I used a mod to get will be added in next patch and I would need to start from the beginning

Not in the nearest time for sure.

Just upgrade Kingmaker installation with WotR ... if there is WotR installed on the same computer, for example. I would really like to try arcanist in Kingmaker without using unofficial mods like Call of wilds

Extremely unlikely. It'd be a titanic amount of work. Kingmaker code is very outdated in comparison with Wrath and to do that, you'd need to completely rewrite half of the game.

One of those bugs that was worked on the last time I checked. Due for 1.3, most likely.

I really wish Owlcat would make DLCs that expand and enrich the main game instead of just sitting alongside it as a separate experience (with occasional small interactions). I think the coolest thing about these games is the very deep systems of choice and reactivity, followed by all the interesting ways to build and equip your characters. Separate side-stories don’t really plug into the former, and are too short/cover too few levels for the latter.

The best Kingmaker DLC was Wild Hearts for this exact reason, IMO. It was the smallest by far, but it added a fun companion and a relatively long questline that gave some cool stuff and had plenty of decision points and reactivity. Meanwhile, Varnhold’s Lot was a trudge. I don’t want to play someone else that I’ll abandon after level 10, I want to play my character. Same deal with Inevitable Excess. Beneath the Stolen Lands was ok-ish except it was 99% about endless combat with trash mobs, which is IMO the most dull part of thes...

We have a lot of plans, and improvement/new content for the main campaign is definitely a yes for the future, don't worry :)

There's something. Saying more would be a spoiler :)

I do miss Jub-Jub and Linzy

This DLC is a separate story about a new set of characters.

That's correct :) As for EE... Who knows ;)

Just noting that we know about this bug and it's in the works, most likely for 1.3.

But I do admit it's hillarious :D
