Hey Citizens,
we have just released Hotfix 10.2.1 to address the following issues:

General:
  • Fixed: A rare issue that could prevent migration of worlds, making them fail to load in Update 10.2.
  • Fixed: Repeatedly and quickly applying fertilizer could lead to the client being disconnected from the server.
  • Fixed: Adding unrestricted claim papers received through Difficulty.eco settings to a claim stake wouldn't allow to claim more land.
  • Fixed: Interacting with a claim stake containing unrestricted claim papers or adding such to one could lead to the client being disconnected from the server.
  • Removed: Deprecated config variables for Exhaustion in Balance.eco.template.
Balance:
  • Fixed: Recurve bow was using the wrong specialty for repairing.
  • Fixed: Small court had too many law slots - it now ha...

That is correct, but the law system in Eco in opposite it's real life counterpart is a feature for simple automated, programmated enforcement to regulate primarily game mechanical aspects, not so much player behaviour - which is not simple at all and needs someone with a brain to assess. As such it can only act on things it can automatically detect, which is a limited set of actions. This is not one of the things it can act on, just as it cannot act on players uploading inappropriate pictures, cheating, using multiple accounts at the same time, building not so funny symbols on their properties, calling other people names in the voice chat, just finding their way around the limited implementation capabilities through exploiting or creative means or anything else that goes beyond simple game actions. Yet, servers are very well intended to be able to make regulations on those matters.

The real life law system does not have that flaw, as it has simple textual laws (like ser... Read more

I assume you mean the widely used chronicler mod for action logging? That's also used on all official servers and endorsed by us, it's very helpful for admins to enforce rules quickly without any doubt and commonly wished to be integrated to the base game.

Sounds like broken mods folder, delete the E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Eco\Eco_Data\Server\Mods\ folder and verify game files via steam.

That is a known issue with settlements off in 10.2. It'll be adressed with Hotfix 10.2.1. I do want to note again that settlements off is a deprecated setting and shouldn't be used, everything that can be done with settlements off can be done with settlements on, including gaining u... Read more

It doesn't matter whose fault it is, in a civil society it can be expected from people to not abuse other peoples obvious mistakes in a matter of fairness and as such it is enforced in many countries.

That actually highly depends on your jurisdiction, in my country that could be a fraud getting you to court, given it must have been obvious to you that the price cannot be intendedly set like this, especially if there was no kind of special advertising. You would likely go free, but they could get damages from you in civil court.

Abusing other peoples' mistakes like that I consider fair game to be a bannable offence on servers, it's at the very least rude.

Difficulty.eco:
"ClaimStakesGrantedUponSkillscrollConsumedAndSettlementsEnabled": 1.0,
"ClaimPapersGrantedUponSkillscrollConsumedAndSettlementsEnabled": 5.0,

Automatically set for worlds that use recommended "No Collab" in singleplayer.

For some reason the order is not progressing. Even though it says there is no wood in storage, there is and it is toggled as input. I tried manually adding logs, the order started working then it stopped.

Your Steam name is different from the creator of the work order - if you are not the same person, it only can take stuff from storages linked by the work order creator, make sure that is the case :)

This means the port assigned to the Eco server is already used, either by another running Eco server or a different program.

Hello Eco Citizens, Update 10.2 is now available!

The main changes in this update are a new Blacksmith profession, tons of improvements for the Exhaustion system, legal 'Injunctions', settlement polish, civics polish, lots of audio polish, and a multitude of bug fixes and balance changes.

Blacksmith Profession
Eco 10.2 introduces the first of the new specialties we have planned from our Roadmap to 1.0. The Blacksmith is intended to fulfil the manufacturing side of metalworking and takes over a lot of recipes that were so far handled by smelters.

The update comes with five new workstations (Blacksmith Table, Power Hammer, Fletching Table, Grindstone and Pottery Table), two new decorative objects (Lighthouse Lamp and Town Bell) and four new items:
  • Clay Mold - Used as a new ingredient by Smelting. (Crafted by Gathering)

Your comment was deleted by a Valve moderator, so please address any feedback there if necessary. It is not very surprising though, as the OP in opposite to you didn't target any specific person with their post. Closing, as I don't see any valuable content for the community coming out of this thread anymore.

That would usually be caused by the VC++ Redistributables not being installed, if this is on Windows OS.

It was educated to use this exact setting as most recently 3 months ago here on reddit by you - so I'm confused at this point.

It would be helpful if the wiki had specific step by step instructions on how to make it so that server creators who didn't want to use the settlements/culture system could set things up to make a global settlement and the configuration and admin actions required - we fumbled our way through it last time we were forced to before the information was out about the settlements false but I still don't see anything on the wiki that describes how to do it without issue. If settlements false is going away people are going to need to understand how to do that successfully. I understand that the wiki is being overhauled atm but this is pretty important information for server set up, if SLG has done it and I've just missed it on the w...

Yes. The post you refered to was before the mentioned settings were introduced (I noted that was a few weeks after release) and as such at that time the only way to achieve what you wanted to achieve. Additionally the post didn't hint at singleplayer / local world usage either, as it specifically talks about "setting up a server", hence I assumed your group is hosting a public server for a cycle - there was no need for a warning given that assumption, there was no plan to remove the setting within the forseeable lifetime of a server. Communication only included incentivization of everyone (including servers, like here) to not use that setting after introduction of the claim settings, because as of then all things players were used to were possible with settlements on. Before we only warned singleplayers specifically that this makes the world unsupported. Sorry for that. I obviously cannot guarantee that every single response was the same in that regard either, in the end I'm not us...

Stakes should also be present with settlements off, that was a general intended change to the claiming system.

This is some valuable information, thanks for sharing. Am i correct that if i leave the settlement setting turned on and i configure the 2 settings that you just shared will basically give me the same results when it comes to getting the claim papers like before while also keeping the settlement system going?

Do i add this to "Balance.eco"? Or is there another file where to add these.

Yes, you will get claim papers and stakes when reading skill scrolls and those papers and stakes can be used anywhere, with no requirement to be in a settlement. (They can also be used in a settlement, so you can combine both systems)
