Everyone having crashes, please send an e-mail to [email protected] with your client (and if you play on singleplayer ALSO your server) logs: https://github.com/StrangeLoopGames/EcoIssues/wiki/Getting-the-Eco-server-and-client-log-files-for-local-world

I'll take a look on these then.

We're monitoring your feedback on this matter and I agree with you that the new behaviour is not great, please continue posting here, if you have issues with this handling.

I've made sure developers are aware. I can't promise you a potential change would be effective immediately though, as those changes were big and hence might not be suitable for a hotfix due to what else they could break.

This works as intended, you're not supposed to hold until the end.

We will investigate how we can improve this for Update 9.5, but with the current backend code it wasn't possible to do it differently, the change was needed though, as it fixes several other annoying issues and a few exploits.

Please nontheless continue to give feedback in relation to it here, so we can see how many people actually hold until the end of an animation and hence are affected. Most people seem to just do clicks, so it was deemed acceptable, especially as you can retrain.

I know it should ultimately support any way of doing it, but for this Update that wasn't possible.

For any type of diagonal roof you need two thick roofs. Rooms are not allowed to have contact with air to be recognized correctly and diagonally having contact to air counts as having contact to air:

A B
B A

B being blocks, A being air. Diagonal contact, e.g. contact to outside, no correct room.
We want to rework this in the future, but it's working as intended for how the current system was made.

We're monitoring feedback to cart behaviour closely and will decide on if and how to rework it based on that. Given the changes were big and can affect other things negatively, a change would likely be for 9.5 though, as the risk for a hotfix is too big.

In regards to the shovel, as we've communicated in the past that is intended. We once had a shovel allowing to pick up more, but it didn't feel good and out of place. The reason for why you can take more out of a stockpile is simply that there is a difference between getting dirt out of the ground vs. from a pile. It's a choice of realism, and being able to dig several dirt blocks doesn't fit the design goals of Eco. We actually had considered to make the same apply for stockpiles, but decided against it due to the fact it is indeed easier to get dirt from a pile and it didn't feel as out of place as when digging it out the ground. We know that is controversially debated in the community and thankfully there is a mod for... Read more

I usually went the "Minecraft style of tree planting" 3 spaces between tilled soil tiles. This allows you to take a cart through the orchard, except for freshly planted Oaks and Ceibas. This method also allows the trees to usually fall completely to ground without getting caught on one another. Any closer and the trees catch on each other will chopping down and don't fall right.
In Update 9.5 we will, to reduce lag and for more realism, enforce placing o... Read more

As has been correctly said, your XP rating is a multiplier, not an absolute number. The calculation should be visible as well when getting XP and in the tooltips of the skill pie in the bottom left.

Education is not currently fully implemented and an experimental feature, it seems it did get into the wrong config file, though, hence we will remove the option to activate it with the first hotfix. Sorry for the inconvience caused by that!

Yes, aqueducts and artificial waterfalls will work.

Big shovel for 2. You really want me to shovel 1 piece of clay at a time? What a joke.

Stockpiles having stacks of 20??? That’s definitely third. This always leads to having tons of stockpiles and just added confusion compared to servers that have 100 stacks.

Not to mention they just broke the movement on carts so they get stuck going down hills now lmao

I’ve played with full contributing groups of 11 people and that is still a grind the fact that the game now expects us to jump through extra hoops to obtain the same amount of resources should upset everybody

It's okay if you don't like that and mod it - we have that support for a reason - but most people do not and it's how the vanilla game is supposed to be.

Also you gave everybody small wood carts which seems ridiculous, especially since it was added to the logger but they’ll never be able to sell one because everybody already starts with one. It’d be like selling stone axes at your store. So just replace the small wood cart with the og torch stand.

Or here’s a genius idea, make the campsite 1 slot bigger.

Of course not, you can mod your servers however you want, but then you are not playing vanilla, hence also do not receive any support. I obviously can only make statements on the vanilla game that most people play, so if you play with mods you can of course do whatever you want, I'm just talking about what we will do with the main game.

The wood cart change is intentional, as that is how you will do it in the future when UI moving does no longer exist for many storages. We only change stuff bit by bit, as we of course keep those 'tricks' until we have a system ready that works as a replacement. So it makes sense to give people that, so it doesn't become a hassle.

I think the idea for the future is that moving between stockpiles is supposed to use carts or some other vehicle and feeding to stores is supposed to use conveyers.

That is the spirit of how it will work in the future, including with no UI moving possible at all anymore for many storages, can't say anything more yet, though.

Yes, the ranges were kept.

Yeah, wish that the starter kit was a storage chest that had in it a tiny stockpile, tools, and the food. The campsite just gets tossed at some point, but I guess you got to have some trash in the end.

The campsite allows sleeping, which is important in singleplayer.

IMO the torch stand is the most useful item you get in your campsite

This behaviour is actually an exploit which is going to be fixed in a future update, hence bringing back the torch stand for this would totally not be an option *g*

The machete has much bigger use for new players to cut foliage, especially in the jungle for faster movement, so it is much more useful than the torch stand. As campsite slots are limited, we've decided to replace the torch stand with it.

Removed a post from /u/Binkabonkaa below yours that violated rule 2. I really have no problem with adult talk personally, but if you're going to make NSFW jokes, at least do so in a way you still have to do a bit guessing work in your head.

An explicit description of furries and what people think they would do in a way worse than any dirty talk I've seen is definitely not suitable for this sub, though, and not only NSFW but quite a bit negative prejudice to them as well, no?
