I have been playing the game over a year but now after the new DLC the game is getting crash in less than 5 minutes playing.


Yesterday the game got crashed 2 times and today already 3 times

Cause was resolved over Discord -- AVG antivirus deleting the exe file

Hello,

Could you copy the lines in your ZXLog file after the game got frozen or crashed and before launching it again?

This file usually is in the path Documents/My Games/They are billions.

Hi again

Have you tried to check the integrity of your file installation? Use right button on the name of the game in your STEAM library, propierties, local files, check the integrity.

Do you use Radeo software?

Do you use After Burner or Riva-Tuner Statistics Server?

@distinctmint fixed the problem updating the gpu drivers. Have you tried it?

On the other hand, have you checked if you have any kind of real time scanner from your antivirus that maybe can be blocking the game?

Hi,

No, your ZXLog file looks totally normal. Only it's little strange that you got the crash when you were choosing the mayor.

Anyway, with your new OS Windows 10, do you use After Burner or Riva-Tuner Statistics Server or Radeon Software?

But every time the game crash is after a mayour selection?

Have you check the integrity of your game files? (Right mouse button on the name of the game in your STEAM library, Propierties, Local files, Chek the file integrity)

Hey! I'm sorry to read you're facing crashes so often. We don't seem to have any known issues that relate to this behaviour, but we can investigate for you.

How long has this issue been affecting you?

I can see you have discussed this issue already and there look to have been 4 support cases created. If we do need to return back to a support case, please focus on 1 otherwise we may unintentionally repeat troubleshooting steps with you.

After reviewing your MsInfo report I can see a lot of crashes in there. Here are some suggestions that I hope will help -

- If you are not using it, uninstall DS4Windows. It is constantly crashing and could be conflicting with Rainbow Six Siege.

- I also noticed you have Overwolf installed. In our experience, overlay software can conflict with our games and cause crashes. Try temporarily disabling it to see if that helps.

- Similar to the above step, please try disabling background applications: https://support.ubisoft.com/faqs/000025721/

Sorry about that, I should have seen that didn't apply to you.

If you run ck3.exe without Steam running does this still happen? You may have a corrupted save gme in the Steam cloud, if so.

Does it also happen with the launch options -noWorkshop and -disableMods in place?

How To Set Launch Options
  • Right-click on the game title under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
  • Enter the launch options you wish to apply in the box (be sure to separate each code with a space) and click OK. Should look like this:
    -noWorkshop -disableMods
  • Close the game's Properties window and launch the game.

The launch options isn't a permanent solution. It's a way to narrow down where the problem is, so we can find a solution that works for you. You mentioned the game crashes on the main menu for you as well, if it doesn't with the launch options, try starting a new city to see if that loads up fine. Let us know if it works just fine or if it crashes again like that.

Hi, could you offer the crash report and logfile and share it on some cloud drive so that we can fetch them?

For log:
Make your way to game installation folder/logfile. Here you can find all logs with the timestamps, you then can remember when the issue happened and send all possible logs to me.

For crash report:
Make your way to C:\Users\Your username\AppData\Local\Temp\duoyi\Gunfire Reborn\Crashes. You can also find there're multiple folder within.(Make sure hidden files are shown in the Windows setting)

You mention that you cannot interact with anything. Do you mean you press F and nothing happens in front of a chest/peddler/craftsman/vault portal etc.? (without any prompt/item selection/entering the next stage)

Do you mean if your friend interact with the portal, you can see the loading screen right when they presses F and you can interact with others once loading is completed?

I received several reports after posting my request and most of them were releated to outdated graphics drivers. Please make sure to have the _newest_ graphics driver, as 9.4 uses an updated Unity version. Graphics drivers for NVIDIA back from April for example are already too old.

You can send all further crashes you experience to the mail I mentioned above if updating your drivers didn't help.

Thank you for reaching out to us, sorry to hear you're experiencing crashes!

I've been able to locate the case you created and check your files and have a few further steps for you to try.

Checking your GPU drivers, they do appear outdated (unless the DxDiag was generated before you updated them, in which case could you please provide a fresh DxDiag file?).

You can download the latest driver for your GPU on the AMD site here.

I've also noticed a multitude of other program crashes, namely Armoury Agent.

Could you please perform a System File Scan on your PC, to ensure your OS and System is healthy and no core files are missing or corrupted.

Please let us know how you get on with these and update your case with new files should the issue then continue so we can take a further look.

Taking another look, I can see that you run Overwolf on your PC.

This program has been known to cause software conflicts in the past so for testing could you please uninstall Overwolf before retrying the game and let us know if there's any change?

Oh no @NannyWarbucks , I'm sorry to hear that was so short lived!

Let's have another crack at it!

Do you have both the game and Ubisoft Connect installed on the same drive?

It may also be worth checking the %TEMP% files for the game as well as clearing them.

And I'd also recommend monitoring your PC's CPU / GPU usage and temperatures while the game runs until it crashes, to see if there's any temperature or usage spikes.

Can you try removing all of your mods by performing a clean install following the instructions on the below article and try to recreate this on an unmodded new campaign?

As save files remain altered and some leftover mod files remain even after deleting the mods, a clean install and creating a new campaign is necessary to see if the problem is isolated to the modded game or if it's a problem from our end.
Alternatively, I can move this thread to the General Discussions board where the community might help with which mod is or isn't compatible with the game's current version, or you can contact the mod developers.

Another important step to take when you're experiencing these crashes is to make sure that your game and launcher(s) are on the same drive, preferably the hard drive.

Could you take a look at the PC troubleshooting article and run through all the steps listed then try again. The support article contains some of the most common fixes for crashes, freezing, FPS drops and more.

Firstly, please perform a "Check and Repair" and see if that helps you. Sometimes an install has a weird file or whatever and a checkover can find the issue.

We are aware and are working on it. Leaving the sound turned ON after you reinstalled should help in the meantime. Additionally, not using any apps that play sound (looking at you, Spotify) seems to help as well.
