Sorry to hear that the community has lost you - hopefully that’s just temporary.
For anyone else experiencing this - we’re working on a fix internally, but until then you should be able to workaround the issue by setting graphics to the Very Low option.

This is not a bug - but it is also not how the system will work in future. It’s the implementation we went with for the game’s pre-alpha demos very early on in development, and we’ll be changing how respecialization works during the game’s beta.
I’m going to move this thread to Feedback and Suggestions as it’s not a bug.

Changing graphics to Very Low is a workaround that seems to help everyone affected.

They’ve certainly been a big influence on us. I haven’t met any of GGG’s staff in person, but I’m friends with a couple on Discord and there’s a few others I regularly send forum PMs to exchange cat pics discuss serious topics of conversation.
The intention is not to perform regular wipes.
I can’t rule out them occasionally being required due to changes under the hood. Also, it will never be possible to bring offline-only characters online - so some people may consider the initial availability of multiplayer to be a wipe of sorts.
