This matter was already discussed and passed to the devs before and after patch launch. As of right now, the developers do not plan to add AIM-9L to the British Phantoms.

It was done so with Japan as the EJ Kai as they did not receive a Rank VIII this patch just passed and this aircraft still has further upgrades to be added, that may also see its BR increase if required. Its BR is also being increased due to the fact it has AIM-9L to 11.7. The devs don't wish to increase the BR of the British Phantoms right now, as they are performing currently adequately at their BR.

As we have already mentioned, a new fighter is planned to come for the UK in a future patch.

We have multiple thousands of bug reports to process, so unfortunately, we cannot leave a response to every report that we close due to it not containing all the information we need or following the guidelines as presented for all of the files we need in order to pass something onto the devs. In this case of your report, it was not a bug, but a suggestion, as you even mentioned "In my opinion it should not behave this way." - Therefor the suggestions system on the forum would be the correct place to submit a topic. Not the bug reporting platform. If something is not a bug, then we will close it.

If you require clarification or assistance with any report, you can contact any Technical Moderator for guidance.

A paper tank of this kind is not something that would be considered for development in War Thunder currently.
