With the release of update v20.00, we are making a significant shift to the items available for purchase in Save the World. Save the World will no longer sell Llamas (Upgrade, People, Hero, etc), gameplay-affecting items, or items that accelerate your progression through the game for V-Bucks or real-world currency. These changes bring Save the World into closer alignment with Battle Royale, where cosmetics do not give any competitive advantage over players who choose not to pay.

What’s changing exactly?

• Starter packs that include Save the World access will no longer include a Hero or any X-Ray Tickets. They will still include cosmetic items (Outfit, Back Bling, and Pickaxe), and their challenges will grant an additional 500 V-Bucks (for 1500 total).
  • The Mecha-Pop Pack will be the first one to use this new format.

The pecking order has changed.

In Avian Ambush Week, chickens are kings of the ecosystem. They’ve totally done away with sharks, wolves, frogs, and boars… and they’re coming after you next. Not only have they become more common, but they now fight back when attacked. Choosing peace with them instead? Hold one and it’ll peck at nearby opponents! You’ll also notice glowing chickens called Loot Chickens. Like crows (whom the chickens spared), these chickens carry loot!

Good news! The Wildlife of the land has begun to adapt to The Storm's forces and are now re-emerging into the environment. The flip side of this good news though… Some of the local Wildlife aren’t very friendly- yet. Confronting these beasts is very dangerous, but learning how to work with them may be the key to fighting back against The Storm.

No really, pick up a bow and take it: the v19.30 Feb 22 hotfix sees the start of Bownanza Week! From now until March 1, 2022, at 8:59 AM ET, bows from Chapter 2 Season 6: Primal are in the present day of Chapter 3 Season 1: Flipped. Across the Island as Chest and ground loot, find plenty of Primal Flame Bows, Primal Stink Bows, Mechanical Explosive Bows, Mechanical Shockwave Bows, and of course: Arrows. (Arrows can also be found in Ammo Boxes!)

As some of you may have already noticed, the Save the World playlist has made its new home in the Discover menu!

To find the newly relocated Save the World playlist, select the 'Change' button in the Fortnite main lobby and navigate to the 'By Epic' row or your 'Recently Played'. It can also be found in your ‘Favorites’ row if you chose to add it there.

Now that Save the World has joined the rest of Fortnite in Discover, the Game Mode Select Screen has been removed.

Along with its move to Discover, Save the World is now playable in Performance Mode! Performance mode allows Fortnite to run better than ever before and maintain a smoother frame rate, even on less powerful hardware. Read about ... Read more
