Crashing: Received a number of DMs over the weekend and flagged it with our team. Today/This Morning we rolled back an update that we originally released last week which introduced crashes for some players. Let me know if you are continuing to crash on Black Ops Cold War.

For prestige ranks/levels: At the start of Season One, Military Rank and Prestige progression will be synchronized with Vanguard across titles. For reference: The way that this thread is treating its peers and upvotes/downvotes are why this is a touchy subject.

For context: I suggested that OGKrushz reread the thread because the POV they brought regarding weapon balancing was effectively flawed. I outlined how it happens (mixing player data, social data, and testing), how it is touchy (which community is right vs. which is wrong), and established that a single person's playtime is not the crux of decision-making. The reality that players have different opinions and that feedback is shared with the team, in both situations, is something that I believe should be reread for verity. Standing alone, this image appears aggressive, but with context, it makes a bit more sense.

To clear up some of the confusion, here's what you can expect when Vanguard's Season One arrives (with more info to come as we get closer to Season One launch):

  • Current Prestige Progression will be memorialized in Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, and Modern Warfare.
  • Keep Your Unlocked Content - All earned weapon, loadout, and Prestige-related content will remain unlocked.
  • Prestige Emblems & Stickers - Players will retain access to all earned Prestige Emblems & Stickers.
  • Prestige Keys - Players' Prestige Key collections will remain intact. Playing in any title will continue to earn Prestige Keys in Black Ops Cold War at every 50 Season Levels.
  • Prestige Shop - Prestige Shop content in Black Ops Cold War can still be unlocked after Vanguard Season One begins. Players' current Prestige status will carry forward in Prestige Shop requirements, so that an...

To be frank, "listening" doesn't mean "doing" in most scenarios. It also doesn't mean guaranteed 1:1 interactions which is out of scope for most, if not all, Community Managers. It's simply not possible.

While this account hasn't explicitly responded to the issue, we're aware that some players experience this crash. We typically release stability updates, and have, over the majority of our game updates and definitely have released MDT stability items since the release of MDT. We also have resources available for reporting these types of crashes that you can find here.

I definitely understand where disagreements on "this was fun" or "this let me grind faster" issue fixes tend to fester. More often than not, these "better for community" issues are immediately evident and easy to understand. XP way too high? Easy to adjust. Damage out of control on a perk/equipment? Easy to adjust. Able to skip intended gameplay loops due to moving OOB or in an unexpected way? Easy to adjust. They're going to stick out more for sure but we want a "fun-for-y'all" product just as much as you want a "fun-for-us" product.

We also do listen. The last conversation I had regarding the new Sai weapon's extra jump distance is that we aren't going to prevent that new loop in FBZ. Have fun with it.
