What he said, yes.

The trigger is the player building or having built a hospital. Not an issue as originally thought.

They have not announced a release date. The only thing that we have been told is that the cosmetic DLCs will be coming out after High Life.

What he said ;)

But hey, we might have news soon

Any future project will of course contain achievements, as well as challenges and rewards like all Ubisoft games via Ubisoft Connect (have a look at other Ubisoft titles like Rainbow Six Siege or Assassin's Creed Valhalla). How exactly those will look like, we will see :)

The new formula changes it to "based on the maximum total possible population". So the end result is still the same? The only real change is lesser consumption during the buildup phase?

There's zero change to the consumption.

We only changed how the consumption is calculated in the backend, which, however, has no impact on you while playing.

When you build/upgrade a residence, it will still immediately consume the maximum amount of a certain good. The change we did was necessary so we could implement and balance the new residences, but the results are indeed the same.

We expanded this section in the blog to provide more clarity on the matter. Generally speaking, this purely is a development insight: Might be interesting for some, but knowing it has no "use" for you if you want to know about gameplay changes or new features.

I think they are saying that in the code they changed the formula from counting the number of buildings to counting the population max, but those things are equal so nothing actually isdifferent. So for example before it was consumption = 5 farmer houses. But now it's consumption = 50 farmers. They just changed the unit in the formula but the result is the same.

That's basically it, yeah.

We've clarified and expanded the section in the article now, should hopefully make it clearer.

Indeed. More on that in next week's blog :)

Then you'd be surprised to learn that we actually came up with that yesterday morning.

The teasers are planned for a longer time already, of course, same with our overall communication strategy. But that doesn't mean that we can't have some additional fun from time to time.

I still have very bad memories of that from the game Stellaris and their MegaCorp DLC. People wanted it so bad and the publisher gave in, leaving the game in an unplayable state that still leaves issues today (almost 3 years after the release of said DLC).

So yeah, I obviously want the DLC now, I love playing the game insanely much right now (have put in almost 130 hours in just roughly 2 months) but I also want them to release the DLC when THEY are REALLY ready for it.

Just to clear up some misconceptions: The release dates are set and proposed by us (but ofc communicated with the other teams within Ubisoft). We're not being pressured into keeping those or releasing on a set date by anyone but ourselves ;)

Whatever the new commercial goods are, I hope that they are added on top of current needs, as I'm all for complexity. So that the needs go above the current 8 items.

Complexity sounds good, let's do that

@fissilecore When you received a reply on the old forums, it's being investigated. If your report was new, I'd indeed recommend posting it again on the new ones.

While that can be a nice trick, we'd rather communicate the actual timeframe.

Keep in mind, we planned the releases at the very beginning of the year and wanted to give you a rough idea of when each DLC is releasing.

Hey Anno Community,

Today we want to shine some light on the work of the QA teams and give you some insights into our processes: Which roles do each team fulfill? Is there a difference between the work before and after the game release? What’s a Hotfix and when do we make use of it?

For this purpose, we sat down with Dorina, our QA Manager here in Mainz, as well as – for additional insights – Nadiia, Senior Development Tester here in Mainz (previously: QC Project Lead) and Artem, Live QA Specialist.

You can now find the answers to these and several more questions in our latest DevBlog on the ... Read more
