@Padishar:

Amazing news. I'm very much looking forward to the Draft Arena Open.
But where exactly is the terms&conditions that shows the countires of which residents are eligible for money prizes?

You can find the terms and conditions here.

In just a few short days, the next game update hits Magic: The Gathering Arena, and it's bringing both new cards and new ways to play. Trust us, if the cards in Historic Anthology III don't give you flashbacks to some of the most iconic cards and creatures in MTG's history . . . we don't think anything will.

And if that's not enough to convince you to keep reading, perhaps the Arena Open—and the opportunity to win monetary rewards at home in your pajama pants—will keep your finger squarely on the scroll bar.

Come what May—it's State of the Game time!

I'ts probably because the file you're uploading is too large. There is a 20mb file size. I'll chat with the team and see what we can do.

@PeppermintLarry:

There was a rather large required download of close to 3.5 GB this morning to Arena.
But I can't seem to find the patch notes or any information pertaining to the download anywhere.
What did we just download?

It was to fix a bug that some people were running into.

If talking like that got you banned, half the people on this forum would be banned.
I'm not kidding. I got banned for basically calling wizards a bunch of morons. That was it

^^ That's not critical anymore but swearing.
I dont know where you're from, but the word Moron is not swearing by any means. Real swearing is bleeped out on these forums anyway

Whether you think it is swearing or not, it isn't allowed. Insulting someone, even staff, is breaking the Code of Conduct. If you'd like to refresh yourself on the rules you can find the Code of Conduct link at the bottom of the page. :slight_smile:

My favorite loss wasn't really a beat down, but just a fun instance that I'll always remember.

It was towards the end of my work day, so I thought I'd play a quick game on MTGA. Well we were both playing janky token decks, so our "quick game" ended up lasting TWO HOURS. We both had crazy board states and way too much life so the game wasn't going to end any time soon. My coworker finally told me to surrender because the other person deserved it (and at that point it was probably 7:30pm so we were the last people in office). It was a really fun match and they definitely deserved the win for putting up with my shenanigans that long!

Is that even an official page? And if it is that is a bad way to handle communications.
There is a huge link to that page from the forum homepage. It's the first thing you should check when something's wrong with Arena. Also, if you check official WotC posts in forums, which are sorted in chronological order, link available from forum homepage, you see Lexie mentioning about daily deals and also sharing the status page link.
I'd call that sufficient communication, alth...

Daily Deals look a little borked? The status page probably has the answers that you seek.

Thanks for letting me know, everyone! Restart the client and you should be able to get back in. :slight_smile:

(Note: It may take a few minutes but should be fixed. Grab a snack or something, then come back and try again.)

Same here, system is down for maintenance.

What region are you in? Any details that you can give me would be great, so we can look into this a bit farther!

@TheBlackSquirrel#66193:

This forum makes it seem like the patch is done, and the game should be up and running. So, how long before we can actually play again? I'm getting tired of loading it up and getting the SYSTEM IS DOWN message.

The game should definitely be operational. Could you walk me through what is exactly happening to you?

My checking for updates is currently at 5mins 12secs and counting. Will update when it eventually finishes

I mean, there's an actual update that it is checking for right now, but going forward it shouldn't be a problem. Definitely keep me posted though!

Comment

@Lidofrin:

Hy there,
I got the update. It completely installed. Now the step "checking for updates" doesn't take even longer (no idea if it is just because there WAS an update this time)

So you're saying that the "checking for updates" is taking less time now that you have updated the game?

Comment

@Vishnu:

Am I the only one experiencing this extemely long loading and checking for updates screen before entering the game?

We're aware of this issue! Checking for updates should take significantly less time once the current maintenance is over (like the fix is happening right now).

First off, I'm sorry that you're having in-game issues! I know that it's super frustrating. This can be due to MANY different things, from your local ISP to a secondary program running in the background to servers to hardware etc, which is why I ask people to let us know via the proper channel and submit logs along with it. Unfortunately reporting an issue doesn't mean that it will be solved in an hour, or even a couple weeks, but it is the first step. We take performance issues VERY seriously. If you run into a performance issue while in an event, contact our support team via this request.
