We can't tell you. :)

This makes me think that the reason why Vengir were pushed into the wastes by the other tribes is because they either become too strong during the war against the Ancients or were simply too violent and militaristic

I can confirm that at this time, Vengir finishing off the Ancients was heralded as a "good thing" by everyone else, as Vengir was one of the group of proto-tribes that fought the Ancients.

Sorry, let me rephrase that.

This recreation depicts pre-banishment Vengir

Thanks for the info. I have one good thing to say about the update. I do believe you put in some type of elo configuration into the matchmaking? The lowest rank I've been matched against in a live game so far has been 1250, where-aas preupdate I would get -1000 players all the time. Is that something confirmed, or in my head?

I'll have to check

Zoy, one thing I just noticed, is another thing that seems to be removed is the green dot next to player's names that shows whether they are online. If you are truly working on separating these "casual", random games, and custom games with friends, that is one of the first features you should add back in.

If you want people to be able to play with friends, they have to be able to see who is online. Having a friend with a green dot lets you select cultivate your friends list and almost always have a friend who is online to play with you

Pretty sure it was temporarily disabled due to some stability issues.

We'll look into it

That's the plan, but for now, the devs have some stability concerns and are afraid of tons of people overloading things.

Backend server stuff is finicky and complicated.

Streamlining the options present was meant to speed up and stabilize matchmaking. Too many options = slow wait times, and we'd like to have something quick and reliable, first and foremost.

The “esports” element is also unbelievably bad. I just waited a day to participate in a tournament; 8 spaces, 607 applications. I didn’t make it. Good for the 8 guys who did, I guess. Extremely disappointing and frustrating.

When you eliminate options for how people can play, you are making your game strictly worse. That’s all.

This first Tourney was small on purpose. It's our first and we're trying to make sure we don't overload the servers.

We expect to have a lot more, larger tourneys in the future.

What the hell happened to multiplayer and random matching, and why??

Things were streamlined in order to create faster matches. We noticed a lot of players concerned about long wait times, so we've retooled Random Matchmaking into more of a "Quick Play" setup, for those who want to "push the button and play".
