Hey everyone,

Its been a bit of a roller coaster on Live over the past several days and I wanted to briefly address a few of the top issues we’re actively working on right now.

Client Performance Patch

As most of you probably know, last Friday we published a round of fairly significant client optimizations to PTS and hosted a couple playtests on Saturday. These playtests were important not only to gauge the overall level of performance improvement players might experience, but more importantly, to ensure that we didn’t unintentionally break anything else, given the scope and complexity of the changes made. While we did have a decent turnout, it was far from the scale of combat most players experience on Live servers.

Overall, the feedback was very positive – almost eerily too positive, since with the exception of a camo bug, there were literally no complaints about any new issues encountered and all of the anecdotal reports...

I brought this info to attention over a month ago and it took you a whole month to figure out that you should sticky this

Old news, but since we keep getting pinged daily on twitter about it, I figured we should just post something here.

FYI - The 451.85 Nvidia driver hotfix appears to have addressed the seconds-long freezing issues a lot of players have been experiencing - https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5046

Props to GroundTrooper in Discord for sharing.

Truth. Theres a shitload of support for the dev's because theres a shitload of communication from the dev's. Its symbiotic.

As much as I'd love to say it was a flood of players, it was a Daybreak login server issue. Especially - as pointed out by others - given the time of day it was happening :)

Very nice. I suppose we will have to wait and see what this means...

Daybreak’s Platform has indicated that this should be fixed. If you haven’t received your verification email, please try again. If it’s still not working properly, please reply. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

Just added a brief update to the original post regarding a comms hotfix we are preparing to publish in the next few hours, as well as acknowledgment of the FPS issues some players are seeing.

Post

Good morning/afternoon everyone,

As you know, we completed the game update about 2 hours ago (1.5 hours of downtime). We will be tracking any and all feedback throughout the day here, Twitter and the official PS2 forums. We will update this thread with any hotfixes that shake out.

If you missed the details about the Colossus update, you can find them in the links below:

Hey everyone,

Since it’s Planetside Anniversary week, and I haven’t posted an update in a few weeks, I wanted to provide some details on the various initiatives the Rogue Planet team has in motion...

Right now, we are preparing the next game update, which as you know includes the Colossus Tank, to go to PTS. Our intent is to have it ready for PTS late next week and we will be broadcasting a live stream to showcase the update in its full - not fully polished - glory. This is a fairly significant update, so we intend to bug fix and iterate on PTS for a couple weeks before it goes live.

Our progress on the intermittent comms issues I mentioned last time have been progressing slower than expected. Our Technical Director is continuing to troubleshoot, along with support from a few very helpful community members that have provided additional details. As soon as I have more to share, I will post asap.

And on to a few other topics…

Pl...

Apologies for the short notice, but we are in the process of having Daybreak Ops bring the Live servers down in all regions to correct the character selection and creation issues that resulted from the network/server incidents last night. These impacted multiple Daybreak-published games and appear to have had lingering effects that weren't apparent at the time the initial issues were resolved.

This should be relatively quick and we expect to have the servers back up and unlocked within an hour.

Interesting you mention this... this afternoon, our FX artist just identified and made a change that resulted in a 20-40+ FPS increase when shielded and ADS for most weapons used by Heavy Assaults. It's in testing now and we plan to publish it via a client-only hotfix (no downtime), sometime tomorrow morning/mid-day.

I know it doesn't address all of the FPS issues mentioned here, but just wanted to let you know that we continue to chip away and these types of improvements.

Ditto. Daybreak TechOps team just sent us an email saying this is happening across multiple games.
