Sure the content is hype and all that.

But honestly, I'm more impressed with the 20 second teaser trailer. It's the best piece of media advertising I've seen for Planetside in years, and it was done without an expensive, flashy CGI trailer.

I hope this is a sign of the future marketing we can expect to see from Rogue Planet Games.

Thanks! Glad that you liked it. Because we don't have the budget to do some flashy, bullsh*t CG trailer!

Can’t wait for update. You guys are great.

Who knows? Perhaps we might be teasing some more details tomorrow?

Good to know, thanks. You guys really have been making good on the promise of being more open and transparent about things.

Please take a look again. Ops team said they have completed their work and the API servers should be reporting properly now.

In years passed we’d normally be able to ping prompt to get him to take a look at whatever API issues cropped up and he kept things chugging along. Is there’s someone specific we should tag to get these sorts of issues handled or at least known more quickly than normal bug reports?

Just ping me/Wrel/Carto on twitter or here. It's being worked on now and they expect to have it functioning properly again by tomorrow after, but possibly early Friday.

Thanks for the update. Hopefully we can get emerald's done sometime soon. In the meantime, any idea when the API servers are going to be live again? THey dont seem to have data from last night's session.

Working on this now with Daybreak ops dept.

Hey everyone,

Tweeted some details about the server hardware upgrade we performed yesterday, while the data base migration was in-progress - https://twitter.com/AndySites/status/1222573185201098752

If you have an aversion to social media, here are the details:

Hey everyone,

Servers are unlocking now in all regions. Apologies for taking longer than expected (4 mins over the 12 hour estimate). Fortunately, we should not need to perform this specific type of maintenance again in the foreseeable future for PC.

And though there were no significant updates made to the game - https://twitter.com/AndySites/status/1221967535689494530 - please reply to this thread if you encounter any new issues once you're back in.

We're 47 mins away from the 12 hour mark and I haven't given the 30 min heads up. We might be going over the original estimate by a bit.

Your logic might not pan out with today's maintenance...

Should the community find it acceptable that we have to go this far out of the way to report a hacker? Opening a ticket feels a lot like work, to which many who work in IT can attest. Why is the onus on us to do RoguePlanet's job?

You're right that ultimately its our game and our responsibility. But if you do report through the linked Roy posted, it will help expedite the process and we appreciate the help.

Thank you for posting this, u/RoyAwesome

If you encounter any cheating/hacking/etc, please follow the links that he posted. Aside from our proprietary anti-cheat/anti-hack functionality, we are in constant contact with BattlEye to report both new hacks or specific hackers that are being sh*t bags in our game. They often help identify the issue and deploy a fix within an hour or so. The faster someone is reported, the sooner than can be banned and their specific hack/cheat identified and prevented.

Thanks,
Andy

That's the goal, but sometimes Andy Sites is an optimist. Either way, we want to make sure its ready, which is why we have started the closed testing process for feedback and will be ramping up as needed.

We came up with the name. Daybreak was not involved in the decision.

I do like the idea behind that - but why absolutely dismantle veteran employees before doing so? Who even is "close to the project" besides Sites and Wrel now?

The PS2 team has nearly 3x the devs than just a couple months ago. Majority of whom were part of the PS2 launch back in 2012 and some from the original PS1 launch in 2003. But most worked on PS2 prior to needing to move over to H1 back in 2017. Everyone that is part of Rogue Planet is all-in for Planetside today and its future.

So I can say with 100% certainty that we did not "dismantle" veteran employees.
