That's Steam doing ... things. Probably it's downloading savefiles from the Cloud or whatever.
Steam has those hiccups from time to time, I guess everyone experienced it already.

Edit: But please post if you find out what Steam is doing, we are all pretty curious!

It's not really possible for anyone to "prove you wrong" because whether or not you find anything that you think is valuable in the update is going to be entirely down to you. Speculation & questions up till then is all that can really happen.

So, really you'll be the only one capable of proving yourself right or wrong depending on your experience playing after the 16th.

Hearth & Home has been the planned first update since the game was launched into Early Access in Feb & there will be other updates in future with other content. If you've been enjoying playing the game up till now, some future update will add more content you'll enjoy at the time.

So while it may be "game over" for you after Hearth & Home drops, hopefully you'll see some future content you like and play it again.

I usually go play other games while I keep EA games I'm supporting on the back burner, and pick them up when they get to a state I am interested in diving into. When... Read more

How early access is it actually if you know what i mean? :)

I'd agree it's about half done, but extremely playable as is (there's plenty of full release games which don't feel as finished in a lot of ways). But, if you don't like starting over in this type of game now and then, I'd hold off playing for now.

Why? There's at least 4 significant content additions planned to flesh out a couple of mostly empty biomes and add more general content. We're about to get the first on the 16th which is Hearth & Home, that will add more building options, food types & all that goes with that, some combat adjustments and likely more we don't know about yet :)

I would actually turn OFF the cloud saves, they're not very reliable and it's the most common way people "lose" their progress if the sync fails or is interrupted.
