The meat you have collected will not be lost, but will be updated to raw boar meat. Your tamed animals will be the same as always, so no need to worry about them :steamhappy:

I tagged Smiffie with this thread, hopefully he can share some meat hints. Meat facts? Meat nuggets?

The clues for the offerings are in the message on the altar. Look at the clues around it too. Every altar has clues to help you find the right offerings.

Another hint to help you out, don't rush. Prepare for adventures carefully, and make sure you're prepared for failure too so that if (when!) you do die, you're not stuck with nothing.

Steam cloud saves often cause conflicts with the world saved on your computer, it is just not a reliable process unfortunately :( they can easily get de-synced. Which can cause the world save on your computer to get messed up if the old cloud save takes priority.

I would turn it off for VH if I were you so that you can be confident the world save on your computer is the controller for your progress. I'm sorry for your lost efforts :(

Edit: It's a good idea to turn off the Steam save for most games tbh. Especially games like this where you're putting a lot of time into creating custom bases.

I like the idea :) Even if it's the same creature/being as the trophies used, but with stars to up the difficulty of it depending on how many trophies sacrificed.

Fighting a 10 * boar would be terrifying lol

Edit: Just because I like the idea doesn't mean anything official for the game btw. Just thought I'd point that out, I'm only a mod :)

It sounds like it could be an issue with Steam Cloud Saves, do you have that enabled on your Valheim install?

As a former console peasant who plays on a controller exclusively I personally don't have problems with the defaults however. I find them fairly intuitive and reasonably well thought out in this game.

My husband plays VH using his controller this way and he confirms this works well for him too.

I'm over 1000 hrs in NMS and this is the thing that makes me the CRAZIEST. I have a super cool underground base which I have to clear out every time I go there. After doing it a few times I basically just abandoned it. Same with the base I built embedded in a cool pillar on another planet.

Personally, between the two approaches I actually do like VH's better. If you use this mod, and think about your builds before you make them, you can reduce the risk of losing the cool things you crea... Read more

Nope, the console + commands are still in the game.

After you have launched the game with the -console option, simply press F5 to open the console. Then execute the commands "devcommands" and "debugmode".

You can place multiple workbenches at a distance from each other which will increase or expand your build area. The white circle with a dotted outline that you see on the ground will show you the area you can build in.

If you want to use mods, you could e.g. use ValheimPlus with which you can modify the workbench radius. - https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/4

You'll need to pay for your own server if you want a persistent server. There's nothing else I can tell you on the matter.

Hello VIP854.

I am not sure why, but something with the 2000 series Nvidia cards makes them have worse performance than 1000 and 3000 series GPU with Valheim.

I have been trying to test this for a long while, but it always seems to be diffrent issues with each card, (2060,2070,2080) and each manufactures (MSI, Asus, etc.)

This video is one we post alot on discord when users are having bad FPS and some get helped by it =)

Only time there is a flavour text like that is when you die, after you have died within 10 minutes of previous death. And it basicly means you didn't lose any skillpoints this time.

This is also how you share worlds with friends, you take a world file and put it in that folder. It'll then show up in game with whatever file name it is. Easy peazy. Hard part is finding the valhiem folder. Mine is in my user app data under "irongate"

Just to add to these great instructions, the path on most computers is: C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\ - where it say's Username, change it to your account name.

Hmmm... just looking at that list I'd suggest uninstalling the armor & weapon mods first, re-verify the game through Steam, and try your combat again.

If that works, then add the mods you removed back one at a time & test in between each addition to see if you can find the one that's borking your attack animation up.

If not, you may want to put the time into doing the more drastic suggestion I had and trying that process again but with ALL the mods.

But! Hopefully in the meantime someone else has some other more specific advice for you to try.

Good luck!

Optimization is kind of an on-going work through a games development, usually the bulk of it is done at the end just before retail release but some can be included in content releases or hot-fixes... it tends to be an incremental process though up till full release.

However, there is a quick pass of tweaks you can do pretty easily may be helpful to getting your computer to work around the CPU load the game currently can cause in certain situations - https://www.reddit.com/r/valheim/comments/liz... Read more
