Hi! Dev here. I apologize for the frustrations this cause. Bolters can crit. Rest assured that’s the case.

To explain a bit more. We have a bug currently in the Psykanum that the color of the damage number that pops up is incorrect some times even if the attack crited. So you crit you will give higher damage, but the color of the damage number is still white.

Can you please try Verifying Integrity of Game Files?

  1. Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify the Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

Failing that, I believe a similar issue occurred during one of the beta tests, and players were able to resolve this after reinstalling Darktide. I appreciate it isn’t ideal, but this may be worth trying.

Ah, not good news, but thank you for confirming. I’m going to check again with the team and make sure the fix did actually make it in, in case there’s been any miscommunication. I’ll chase this and do what I can!

This issue seems to occur when the administrator rights are inconsistent between the Darktide.exe and Launcher.exe.

You may have enabled administrator rights for one, but not the other, at some point.

We recommend removing administrator rights for both Darktide.exe and Launcher.exe by:

  1. Navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\binaries
  2. Right-click Darktide.exe
  3. Select ‘Compatability’
  4. Untick the ‘Run this program as an administrator’ box
  5. Save your changes
  6. Attempt to launch Darktide as normal

NOTE: You may need to do the same for Launcher.exe, in Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\launcher

Hello Heroes!

We wanted to give a small update regarding some of the feedback received and brought back to the team on the Advent Calendar. We’re happy that players have been enjoying the event, but also realize no one likes coming back empty-handed, so we’re working to improve this event for next time. Some of the problems we are working on solving include:

  • How can we let players get a chance to claim missed days?
  • How can we reward players who have everything that is also easy for us to implement? Shillings? Vaults? Something else?
  • We’re also working on improving the UI in claiming and have deployed some fixes for this year’s event that will hopefully make claims less confusing.
