The Nanchang Q-5 is a Chinese supersonic jet attacker, developed during the 1960’s on the basis of the Soviet MiG-19 design. Arriving in the game as part of the next major update, the Nanchang Q-5 will expand the Chinese attacker line into the sixth rank and give pilots the chance to fly another unique and versatile top tier aircraft!

In War Thunder, the Nanchang Q-5 will be a new supersonic jet attacker, awaiting pilots at the top rank of the Chinese aviation tree in the upcoming update. Being heavily based on the design of the Shenyang J-6 (MiG-19), the Nanchang Q-5 inherits many of the former’s characteristics, while placing greater emphasis on ground attack capabilities, thanks to its expanded payload options.

The upcoming War Thunder update will see three new modifications of the legendary Russian tank being added to the game – the 1989 T-72B build, the 2011 T-72B3 and the latest 2016 T-72B3 build!

War Thunder tank commanders should by now be well familiar with the Soviet T-72, which was the most-produced tank in the second half of the 20th century. The present modifications; the T-72A and the T-72B perform rather well in rank VI battles but struggle quite a bit against the top-tier Western tanks. This can be explained for a number of reasons: their average mobility, lack of modern ERA and fire control systems, and insufficient destructive power of the shells. Fans of the Soviet/Russian armoured vehicle tech tree had much to think about, mainly because of an incredibly wide range of available T-72 modifications, both developed ... Read more

The SOMUA SM is a French experimental tank, developed in the immediate postwar years as an alternative to the AMX-50 being developed in parallel at the time. Despite it being the AMX which ultimately entered service, this won’t stop the SOMUA SM from joining the ranks of the French ground forces tree in the upcoming War Thunder update!

In War Thunder, the SOMUA SM will be a new premium heavy tank awaiting commanders at rank IV of the French ground forces tree, following the release of the upcoming major update. Unlike its close relatives - the AMX-50 and Lorraine 40t - which share a similar general design, the SOMUA SM offers its future commanders a slower, but much more heavily armored platform, carrying the excellent French 100mm cannon.

Akebono was a destroyer escort built for the then newly formed JMSDF and was among the first warships domestically produced by Japan after World War II. Soon, captains will have the chance to take command of this unique warship arriving in War Thunder naval forces as part of the upcoming major update!

In War Thunder, Akebono will be a new vessel awaiting captains in the lower ranks of the Japanese naval tree following the release of the upcoming update. Being effectively the sister ship to the Ikazuchi - a vessel already familiar to some captains, Akebono offers its aspiring commanders better performance in combat thanks to improved mobility and a higher endurance than Ikazuchi.
