In October, 83 years ago, the I-15bis took to the skies. This I-15 variant had a new upper wing section, a more powerful engine, and was capable of carrying up to 6 rockets. A total of 2,408 were built and served from 1938 with the USSR and China and with Spain from 1939.

In 1949, 71 years ago, the AMX M4 made its debut. Originally featuring a form similar to the Tiger II, it later was upgraded to the familiar AMX 50 oscillating turret as well as an armour upgrade to 80mm, as 30mm was deemed unacceptably low.
