Updated the list of examples with “Steam, website, guides, gallery, videos, forum posts, feedback on game discussions, etc.”

Keep in mind these are just examples. It’s a fairly open question where you can list any kind of contributions to the community on whatever platform you like to use.

Greetings, citizens of Azeroth –

The World of Warcraft community is second to none with the passion, love, and excitement you all show to the game. Player feedback impacts all aspects of the game, and with such a wide range of opinions, playstyles, and interests out there, gathering and understanding feedback is more important than ever.

To help further our efforts in this area, we’re introducing the WoW Community Council. This program will add another venue for communication between players and WoW developers. Our goal is to gather more detailed feedback on all aspects of World of Warcraft from players around the world with a wide range of backgrounds and interests.

Here’s how it works:

The most winning team in MDI history, and now four-time champions, Echo has continued their incredible run after defeating Aster.Y 3-1 in the MDI Global Finals. Aster.Y, the first team out of China to make a top 2 in MDI history, will receive the silver medals while Ambition, winners of the Season 2 Last Stand Tournament to qualify for the Global Finals, will take home bronze. Heading into the Lower Finals when Aster.Y faced off Ambition to advance to the Grand Finals, AutomaticJak wasn’t mincing his words as he declared this to be “the most competitive Global Finals that we’ve ever had. The best teams that we’ve ever had, across the board.”

Echo entered the weekend in fifth seed, quickly defeating both Complexity and then Ambition to a...

The Hunter Binding Shot change from this week’s PTR update has been reverted.

  • Developers’ note: Due to an oversight when changing Binding Shot from a stun to a root, Binding Shot was not updated to obey normal root rules. During our bug fixing process, we updated it to break on damage in 9.1.5. However, we realize this is a big change and that Binding Shot has become a powerful tool for Hunters. As a result, we are reverting this change and allowing Binding Shot to not break on damage.

Week 4 of open Beta (October 27)

  • Many groups of Guard NPCs that were removed from Alterac Valley in patch 1.11 have been restored for Season of Mastery.
  • The denizens of Blackrock Depths have grown more leery of criminal activity and will now attempt to stash their most valuable items away if they suspect that a thief is in their midst.
  • Many adjustments have been made to the raid encounters in Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair.
  • The PvP honor system has been adjusted to accelerate the rate at which players rank up.
    • Developers’ notes: Each week, the Honor system keeps track of players’ PvP participation, and at the end of the week, player-characters with at least 15 honorable kills are sorted by PvP participation. The system then awards a calculated number of expected points, and the cal...
