July 11 with the content update.

The Ruby Lifeshrine has more eggs than it can manage and needs a little help hatching and teaching five of their dragon whelps, so they’ve called in the crew at the Little Scales Daycare to assist. The crew has become overwhelmed and needs you to help wrangle some whelps.

Scaling Up

Once you arrive in the Dragon Isles, Herald Flaps will deliver a note to you. Accept the “Eggs in Abundance” quest that leads you to Amella at the Ruby Lifeshrine, where you’ll learn about what a  Whelptender does. You’ll then be on your way to the Little ...

Rally your party and venture into a new eight-boss Mythic difficulty mega-dungeon: Dawn of the Infinite! At stake is the future of Azeroth, and only you can ensure the timeline remains preserved—hopefully with a minimal number of paradoxes. This Mythic-only instance can reward you with loot coveted by time benders everywhere, including a perennial assortment of powerful gear, Dragonriding customizations, and many other surprises.

Turning Back Time to Make it Right

An optional questline related to the Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon will be available when Fractures in Time launches. It all starts atop the Seat of the Aspects in Valdrakken where you can pick up the quest “Dawn of the Infinite” from Nozdormu. He senses a terrible threat approaching, and alongside Chromie, you must discover this new enemy's true nature before it's too late.

It’s official, Hardcore realms are coming to World of Warcraft. Players will have the opportunity to show if they have the edge, the grit, the very will— to engage with Azeroth, its denizens, and their fellow players… to survive.

But there are rules of engagement, as there always are. Here are the rules for WoW Classic Hardcore realms and a little bit of the behind-the-scenes thoughts on the choices that have been made.

Hardcore Ruleset Overview

Death on Hardcore realms is permanent on that realm.

This means that if you die, you won’t be able to run back to your corpse and resurrect, nor can you be resurrected by any other spell or ability. This means that even if you have abilities as a part of your class, such as the Shaman Reincarnation, or Warlock Soulstone, they won’t be of any use to you.

You will continue to exist in the game world as a ghost to facilitate...

Greetings, Warlocks.

As several of you have noted, some of your demons have had their long-standing names lost with the new demon customization coming in Fractures in Time. We’re working on a fix for this, but we want to be clear on what you can expect when the patch goes live.

Once the patch is live in your region, we’re disabling several glyphs that previously were the only means of customizing your demon appearances. When you log in for the first time, your demon may no longer be summoned, and you will have to summon t...

Greetings all!

We wanted to remind everyone that the Prismatic Bauble will be returning to its pre-June state starting on July 5. This includes its cooldown reverting to 120 seconds (currently 60 seconds in June) and will once again be exclusively sold by The Mad Merchant.

Hopefully everyone had fun spamming their rainbow trail to their heart’s content throughout June!

One additional PTR note for the week:

ITEMS AND REWARDS

  • Gear created at item level 441 or 444 can now be upgraded using the new Myth upgrade track instead of being above the upgrade system entirely.
    • The Myth track is a new track that goes from 441 (Myth 1/3) to 444 (Myth 2/3) to 447 (Myth 3/3). Gear cannot be upgraded above Myth 3/3.
    • This change is retroactive for all gear obtained in Season 2. Any Season 2 gear that was created at item level 441, 444, or 447 will now display its upgrade level along the Myth track and can be upgraded at any item upgrade vendor.
    • Upgrading gear along the Myth track requires Flightstones and an Aspect’s Shadowflame Crest for each upgrade. The usual discount rules apply here (if the character has a higher level piece of gear in the same slot, no crest is needed; if any character on the account has a higher level piece of gear in the same slot the Flightstone cost will be ha...

In the Fractures in Time content update, the Warlock Class expands to new races. You’ll also be able to undertake a new Warlock-specific questline and use the Barbershop to customize your pets.

Embracing New Ways

Night Elves, Draenei, Lightforged Draenei, Pandaren, Kul Tiran, Tauren, Highmountain Tauren, Mag’har Orcs, and Zandalari Trolls can embrace the ways of the Warlock class—if they have the keen intellect for it and a strong stomach. Demons aren’t always easy to wrangle.
