It's been an exciting week for Warframe. Following the very positive launch of Dante Unbound, we threw open the doors to the Deep Archimedea and Elite Deep Archimedea. People have been laughing all the way to the bank with their new-found riches of Archon Shards.

But there's also been some missteps which we must take responsibility and apologize for, with regard to Dante himself and the rapid changes that caught people unawares. We've already made a big correction by fixing the new Line of Sight calculations which were, to put it bluntly, not as good as they should have been on release.

We never stop reviewing feedback, and in the spirit of making constant improvements to our game, here's a preview of our next steps in response to what players have said:

We botched the LoS change to Dante yesterday and apologize for shipping it in that state. We will be making changes later today to improve it, details ahead.

One silver lining that came from this mistake is that we have decided we will revisit older LoS checks to use this improved version in a future update.

Old LoS check:
We do a raycast, basically draw a line from you to the enemies center and if nothing interrupts the line along the way they are considered on sight. Raycasts ignore other enemies.
Additionally we had a bug that prevented it from working on ragdolled enemies, so if they were pulled by vortex or whatever they were totally invisible to the ability.

The main problem with this approach(aside from the huge ragdoll bug) is that a single raycast can easily trigger as false if for example there is a small railing between you and the enemy. Abilities like Radial Blind, Vast Untime and Rotorswell for example use this same l...

We've been poring over your comments regarding the balance changes to Dante and want to reiterate that we are paying close attention to player feedback and taking these conversations very seriously. As with everything in Warframe, iteration is always possible, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on how Dante feels now that these alterations are in your hands.

One of the clearest pain points from the community is the inconsistencies in Tragedy’s Line of Sight (LOS) checks, and we can confirm that the following changes are already on deck for an upcoming hotfix:

  • Tragedy not hitting ragdolled enemies that are within LOS
  • Increasing the number of LOS checks per enemy to improve the reliability of marginal hits

make improvements on how line of sight is calculated? it's horribly inconsistent and has been for a while now. I've once managed to not hit an enemy with khora's whip while it cracked right next to said enemy because of a tiny bump on the ground.

On paper, Dante's 4 needing LoS is fine, we'd just need to reposition before unleashing the tragedy or idk maybe bullet jump, but in a lot of cases enemies that should have logically been hit aren't due to badly implemented LoS calculations.

If you notice LOS abilities not working properly, could you record a video for it? Without a video it's often very difficult to tell where an interaction goes wrong.

Post them on the forums or via support ticket and I'll check it out. Just ping or @ me when you do, so I don't miss it.

  1. We are actively working on performance improvements for GI lighting. If you could post on the forums with your settings and current performance, we'll check it out. Just ping me, so I don't miss it.
  2. The abilities listed were already changed a week back and should only affect how enemies with Overguard react. Please let me know if you notice changes with regular enemies!

EDIT: We see that Dante's Tragedy LoS does not hit ragdolls and has issues hitting enemies in your general sight (as noted in this thread.)

We're testing a change to Dante's LoS that both effectively hits ragdolls and does the increased number of checks per enemy to improve the reliability of marginal hits.

I think iOS has been isolated again because of certification issues with the recent updates. So no cross-save available for now.

At least i haven't heard about it being fixed already. maybe with todays update.

iOS getting isolated was only for a few days. It should be back to normal.

If you're still experienceing issues, could you check your browser cache or your popup blockers?

Just jumping in to let you know that the upcoming Hotfix will bring improvements for Reactant collection in Cascade. We raised their drop rate, so Cascade will hopefully feel way more fluid.

We were made aware when the update launched this morning that some of you were crashing upon logging in (as reported here and many other places) for the first time after downloading the update. We have some pretty good leads thanks to your reports, but we are still investigating the issue.
