We're looking into why it's so large right now, thanks for your patience.

Apologies for not posting these. They were only put on Discord as it's designed as a pre-release before next week when we have some marketing beats happening.

We're looking into the larger than intended patch. We'll update here once we know more. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I’ll be honest and say I should have posted them directly to the forums. As I stated before, I did not post them via Steam because we had some pretty big announcements for early next week that we wanted to take top spot. This is not a full release of 0.6 and we wanted to release early to get ahead of anything major from showing up that might hinder early next week’s big push.

A long time ago, we used to only post to discord and people here were unhappy so I made the commitment to post them going forward, so that... Read more

Hello!

If you are experiencing resolution issues: Outside the game enter settings for Wayfinder, change the "Game Resolution" to 3840x2160.
Also enable the "Set resolution for internal and external display" option.

Then you should be able to modify the in-game settings & resolution properly. This will be fixed with our next patch.

For the best Steam Deck experience we recommend installing the game locally to your Deck and not to a SD card.

Furthermore, if you do need to install to an SD card due to storage constraints, we recommend lowering the resolution to 720p to help with potential stutters.

Due to a new default profile for Deck, players who are updating to 1.0 may experience performance issues after updating to 1.0. Resetting the in-game graphics settings to default will correct this.

This can't be for real, right? So we're not getting notification of what's changing for the entire weekend, instead it's "just guess"?)

Not to mention that 30 gigs can be quite a lot for peop...

i know alot of devs who push out a patch and the actual notes to it an hour later

That's really weird. Whenever my team pushes a release we have the patch notes typed up and ready before we even have the deployment.
see my note above :)

We aren't dead yet! Look for QoL 2 very soon, as well as an announcement about what's next and 1.0 :)

First off, we don't officially support Linux. We're able to support the Deck because it's a closed system.

With that said, if you did have issues with VRAM being used, that's most likely coming down to how Linux handles vram usage differently. If you wanted to limit the VRAM you can use an launch argument -vramsize to do so or increasing the page file.

I want to give this game a chance, but the impending "gloom" of no new content makes a game based on progression a very hard sell for me.

A side note, my god the production value of the art in this game is insane. It looks amazing. No wonder they ran out of money if they were paying their artists a proper wage.

I miss wildstar.

We've been very open from the start. The goal is to deliver a solid 1.0 version of the game that players can have and play forever and we'll release that later this year and drop all the new content with it.

Anything beyond that depends on the 1.0 launch and the reception.

We're looking at save slots closer to 1.0. But as others have mentioned you can also just backup the entire directory that has your saves in it, and then delete the existing saves and swap the files back and forth.

It sounds like a permissions issue we've seen before. I'd check out this thread on how to run the game as admin once so that it can create the proper folders. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1171690/discussions/0/4333106094378791009/?ctp=2#c6725643618950932934

Playing on High and Ultra mixed at 85% resolution scale.
Granted I have a middle-age rig, I see the game is running pretty smooth (between 70 and 100 fps) most of the time. And there is no overheat from my components, so no hardware throttle at all when I play.
What is weird is that some areas will framedrop at times, and not at other times at the very same spot.
Otherwise great game !

Your CPU is at the minimum spec, so I would recommend playing at lower settings to remove the frame drop.
