Ahaaaa you skunked me. I graciously accept your superiority :)

They really shouldn’t be though, in my opinion. Think of secondaries more of “if you get trapped within my radius, a ticking clock starts for you because my dpm and fires per minute just went WAY up”. It’s not suppose to be a “whack-a-mole” tool.

They still do. Only Yamato and shiki over match the 32 mm bow of the ships you described.

in the future we will have two more battleships that can overmatched 32 mm with AP in the form of the super battleships, but for now it’s just Yamato and Shikishima.

Yes, we perfectly understand it's not just about their real power level, but also about the experience they give. We will not concentrate just on numbers while making further adjustments.

That said I encourage everyone interested in the topic to:

1. Play both on subs and against subs

2. Remember that "unfun" moments do not always represent the majority of cases/battles. I.e. cruisers are sometimes obliterated by a BB salvo, which does not necessarily means they playing against BB is unfun, or that this kind of interaction is the most frequent. And I'm not telling you this to change your mind, but rather to ensure you look at your own experience on bigger scale.

Anyway, we will do our best to address the major feedback points we're getting. Thank you all who make this possible by playing and providing your input

Update modifications for client version 0.10.9.0

Updated modification "BattleFrame Minimap"

Update modifications occurs when you start ModStation and does not require reinstallation of the program, just run the program and, if necessary, apply the update previously installed modifications of the game.

Starting from 15 of October, 14:00 UTC, there will be a small Public Test update aimed to fix the following issues:


Fixed issue which made it impossible to enter the battle on ships armed with SAP shells.

And that’s just the thing, isn’t it?

Coop and Randoms currently share Naval Battles but do not have the same formats. It’s apples and oranges. I’m fully aware that this will cause discrepancies in Naval Battle competitions, but I have to fall back on the reality that Randoms is the primary game mode.

I understand that there are lots of PvE clans out there and I’m spending more time in the PvE parts fo the forums to hear our grievances that sound like they may have fallen by the wayside. I honestly love to problem-solve so I’ve started inquiries on behalf of some of those issues. In regards to Naval Battles, I suspect the reality will be that BXP remains the most common metric.

the PBY was put in place as a placeholder to ensure that all vessels had some form of ASW when subs hit randoms for testing. It is not permanent.

We figured you’d rather have that rather than nothing at all ;)

There is no need to ping Ev1n, guys. He has an enormous amount on his plate.

I can look a little further in depth to this question and see what answers I can share. Like I posted yesterday, I will be out of office until Monday while I move to Texas, so please bare with me for at least that duration. Having a conversation about large-scale questions requires conversation across multiple servers and multiple time-zones, so it doesn’t happen quickly :)

"Homing pigeons" is a good concept, thank you for the suggestion.

On subs and their torps though,

1. The intent was to create new mechanics that would help to shape unique gameplay experience. Halloween-style subs do not work well because they are more like inferior DD with gimmick. They work, but they don't feel right, there is no target observation through the periscope, no suspense and no proper pacing. Subs have a lot of limitations to take into account. Mainly, their torps are their only armament, and yet the capacity is rather small (4-6 from the group at most). We really believe that this class' torps should be somewhat special and have deeper gameplay than Fire & Forget. Our current mechanics is an attempt at such gameplay.
