Hey friends,

We hope you've been having a blast with Bombastic Fantastic, one of our new playlists that switches things up.

This got us to thinking:

YOU, the Battlefield V community, know what you like, what you don't, what modes you play, what maps you avoid.

What if you had the keys to magical and mystical PLAYLIST GENERATOR? What would you make?

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Mixing of modes with different player counts isn't allowed. Sorry. It would make the playlist unstable because you'd have 64 in one mode, then 32 (resulting in 32 people being kicked).
  • Modes that are not standalone (Airborne/Final Stand) can't be standalone in the playlist.
  • If you could make a Grand Operation by choosing your own maps, DO SO. That would be great.

Here's the format we'd like you to use for this:

idk. Unfortunately we get no insight into what reddit itself sets for spam. All I can tell you is that we don't additionally or actively filter that site.

100% typical. 200% sad.

There's no point me in me asking "Do you want more maps?"

So here's my issue with this: It's great to reach out to the community and ask for their opinion and feedback but you have to follow that up with an action plan or at least some sort of indication that something is going to happen about that feedback.

So far, DICE hasn't exactly indicated that anything will come of their feedback sessions or they add something that is this weird middle ground like the class assignments. Those are great but they don't address the fundamental issues with weapon assignments. For example, this was posted on Feb 21. We have all been ringing the bell of "CHANGE WEAPON ASSIGNMENTS TO BE MORE TEAM FOCUSED AND OBJECTIVE FOCUSED" or even just making them more doable. Not that it should be easy but a reason...

Agree fully. Action plan is happening, now that Firestorm is out I'm hoping the wheels can start turning a bit faster.

I doubt you're reading, but I just wanted to say I absolutely LOVE the maps where you can take a very difficult/hidden path to the other side for a flank. One of the biggest disappointments to me is that you can't go to the other bridge hatch in breakthrough on Twisted Steel and come from behind, because you get out of bounds. I guess there must be a reason, but do you guys keep those routes in mind?

Yes we do, and I know exactly what hatch you’re talking about.

It’s written down and I’ll take a second look at it at some point (I’ll try to, anyway!).

Hey everyone,

We're back with another community survey and it would be great if you could spend 5 minutes to fill it out.

As always, your feedback is highly appreciated!

Where is the breakthrough and rush game modes though.

Yeah, where are the BT and Rush layouts, /u/ssbmhero ? Why haven't you delivered some already? :)

I'm assuming we get swim waggon as a transport.

Is this how you spell it? I wouldn't know. /u/kenturrac swim waggon is correct right? It kind of sounds like the name of a Hobbit carpenter.

The river is a bit of an issue, isn't it?

Essentially a third of the map is unusable.

I'd see the river as a thing that makes the ground flow more constricted and directed ("linear") - most of the time.

Somebody will go across the water and suprise your team. Maybe not every game, but sometimes.

Who knows if anything comes of this but the devs are in this thread asking questions about the guy's ideas.

There are signs that point to Halvoy getting divided for other modes so I really, really, really hope this thread and the other give DICE ideas that they can implement soon.

The gameplay is so right but we just need newer maps. The base set just feel lacking.

We're also in this thread, reading your comments.

We're also in your brains, reading your thoughts.

I like it, seems like you've thought about flow and giving an interesting macro flow - D overlooks C and E, so it has a strategically significant value, which also means G and B are great flags to use as staging for D.

C and E, since they're both close to the dam and between the two teams seems like they'd get a lot of combat, which also makes going A-C-E-F a linear kind of flow, sort of like A-C-F on Twisted Steel.

I rate it 8 out of 10 framed cat pictures.

It’s happened to me and I have good connection. It’s the pump shotgun. When it’s slug round it hardly registers. I shot someone 15 feet away 3 times and it didn’t register a single round.

There appears to be an issue with the shotgun indeed, it will be fixed in the upcoming patch.

Sounds like Matt all right. You need to work on your spacebar usage buddy!

So, I feel like you either need to glint all of the 3x scopes or none of them. This Snipers get glint on 3x scopes but Assault and Supports do not is silly.

I'm not exactly sure either but yes, it's fun to talk about it.
EDIT: I wrote yet instead of yes.

I’m 100% a close quarters combat type of guy. My aims to potato to run with ARs, SLRs, or Snipers. When playing medic I run exclusively the 900 RPM spec’d Thompson. While on support I rotate between the M1917 shotgun, FG-42, or MG-42 depending on the map size, average range of engagements, and squad make. I tend to run with the mark 4 revolver to finish people off. I’m quite happy with the gun play in CQC. I’m currently sitting at 4k+ melee kills split pretty evenly between with kurkri and the club. While I love meleeing my one main gripe is the long animations trigger too often and end up getting me killed. If I die while meleeing I’d prefer it to be my fault vs being stuck in an animation long enough for people to see me. A Dud club detonation is an acceptable death animation. Please bring back the Dud club.

Well, it feels cool! I’m just kidding.

The reason there are only 4 objectives is because Halvøy isn’t really bout for conquest. Frostbite was the best spot in the attic part of the map where I could find to have some balance. I wanted to do one with the quarry but I couldn’t seem to find an good way, it would be to disruptive to gameplay.

The terrain of frostbite and the few objectives kind of gives the map a gritty feel, imagine it being the last day of a grand op, you’re hungry and cold, and you need need to take and hold these objectives in a final push against the enemy.

These are some reasons why I made frostbite the way it is. But like I said in the title, Feedback is open!

So what about the other layouts? What were your thoughts about them? Even amount of flags could lead to stagnation. Red Tide also has 6 flags. Why not 5 for example?
