What about being unable to get the best server for your region? I’m on PC on the east coast of the US and I am forced to play in Japan...
Can you reach out to EA Help (help.ea.com)? I think there's a fix for this.

The greatest teacher Failure is. /u/Charlemagne
Watch your master carefully, you must. Teach you the way of reddit community, he will.
/u/F8RGE Are you teaching him about the darkside? You know this community will interpet, confirm anything you say, brazenly.
Also, does /u/F8RGE makes you call him ''master'' at work? /u/Charlemagne Be honest. /u/F8RGE what do you call him at work? Be honest.
I don't call him "Master" at work, just Ben...though he and many others have taken to calling me "Padawan" because of all of you.
Already investigating. Thanks. This one has really been a pain (for both you and for us). Sorry about it.

Thats something ive been curious about. Is it populated well enough for a server browser?
That I don't know, nor do I know the dev cost of making a server browser and how much it would take away from making other parts of the game.
You guys definitely did, but I just wish the community could have seen what it would have been like if things were done right in the beginning.
It’s unfortunate that launch window of time is so crucial and just can’t really be made up.
To some degree, I disagree. Other games have shown that if the team is dedicated enough and sticks through it, it does get better and I think this one is part of that category. We're not really talking about this much (maybe we're too afraid to jinx it) but BII is more popular now than almost ever in its history. It might not feel like that at times since a significant majority of our players play GA, CS, and HvV, leaving some of the smaller, less Star Wars-y modes emptier, but the game is doing very, very well population-wise.
Not that you had anything to do with the launch fiasco, but I still believe if players hadn’t outright revolted over that EA woulda been like “sure this release was a great idea” and continued to try and screw players. You did make the right decision and I’m glad you did, because the precedent set otherwise would’ve been awful.
It was an awful precedent. Even though I wasn't part of the team at the time, I was part of the company and I still hold all of us (myself included) responsible for the choice. It shouldn't have happened. We won't let it happen again.
Right. And how many people are asking for ports of Walker Assault maps? You know full well that the majority of requests for ports in this subreddit are confined to smaller scale maps. Come on dude.
A vast majority of the requests are for GA/CS maps (large-scale modes).
That’s a non-response. More of a side step really.
The fact is that many of those maps were designed around smaller scale game modes such as blast and HvV. Which also happens to be reason so many people want those maps ported over. The Sarlaac Pit for instance. Carbon Freezing Chamber would be another. Beautiful maps that are wonderfully designed and would translate very well to Battlefront II.
Or the Bespin map we already brought over. It wasn't a non-response, just more context to the situation as to why some maps might be harder to bring over.
If we knew how much content was going to be taken away due to the rework, I’m pretty sure most people would prefer the content over the rework...
Maybe, but I think we made the right choice. A hard choice, but the right one. Had we not, we wouldn't have been doing right by our players overall, and that's not something that would have sat well with us. We'll get there.
It's refreshing to hear that you guys get frustrated by these things too and also get excited about being able to balance things out.
A semi related question to maul, and I understand if you can't answer or don't have one: I know the block is confirmed, but is there any discussion on giving his dash attack immunity to force powers, similar to that a roll or dodge would have? I find that's when he experiences most of his Anakin/Like induced ragdolling.
It's certainly something I can bring up with the team. I think we want to be cautious on adding to many Force invulnerabilities to abilities since that means there could end up being less strategic play since no one would affect anyone else, but we might be open to doing it to some others.
Pretty sure it was Dak that said that. f**k I’m a nerd.
Dak said he could take on the Empire by himself, but Luke said he knew the feeling. I meant if Luke pulled a Family Guy and said, "yeah, that would be great!"
Please tell me this is the case when you get hit by heroic might or Retribution through a wall
I've never gotten killed by one through a wall (I've yet to see that while playing) and Heroic Might is easy enough to dodge, but Retribution does get a few glares from me when I feel like I was outside its range but I wasn't. Or when I get knocked down by Passionate Strike. Glad we're taking that effect away.
It’s been explained before. They can’t just copy and paste that stuff in the new game. They’re using a different engine (well version of the engine) that doesn’t work the same way. Just compare the new Jabba’s Palace to the old one. You can see a lot of work went into making new lighting and textures. Ben even said bringing an old map from the last game takes roughly 60-80% (numbers might be off its an old tweet) the time it takes to make a new map.
One thing that ties into this (beyond just the engine differences) is that each of those maps was made for a game mode that may not exist in BII, such as Walker Assault. The maps in BII were built from the ground up for GA. While GA maps can and have been adapted into maps for other modes, WA maps were built around having 1-2 walkers. Not impossible by any means, but it does affect balancing whether they're there or not, as well as overall map design.
This is what happens when Luke tells Dak that he really can take on the Empire all by himself.
Do you ever get really mad at a bug or dying to anakin and then remember who makes the game and sigh
Oh my god, yes.
"What?! God da— oh, wait...sigh I should send that to the team."
To be 100% fair, this was the softest of softball answers since the question above that reply was, effectively, "Do you know we want weapons?" When the time is right and we have more to share on any changes/additions to the game, as always, I promise that we'll do so. I don't want to inflate expectations unnecessarily with this and make people think that something is coming right around the corner. We know this is a part of the game that we didn't deliver on that we advertised at launch (we absolutely planned to add more weapons originally, but then, well, we all know what happened), so we're very sorry about that.
By editing your above comment I suppose you were unable to get confirmation that 4 hours was the record? 3 hours is the the current record?
Yeah, I couldn't find the 4-hour one but someone definitely had a 3-hour one. Hard to say how "natural" it was, though, since it's possible the game took a while to start up. We don't have an official longest game number right now. On average 25-40 minutes is what the games last.
Love it!
Flag this?? Do y'all play this damn game or not ?!! Is Maul only broken on NA servers or what like geez. Y'all should be experiencing these same issues when y'all play
I play almost every day. Flagging doesn't mean we don't know or aren't working on it, just that I'm bringing it back up and saying it's a big issue.
